Can these leashes be washed or would that damage the leather?

These leashes are machine washable. Air dry only.
Does the braided rope become “frizzy” with wear? I have another brand similar style that looks very worn out after a couple months

With regular use, the polypropylene rope should not fray or wear out. The plastic fibers would need to be into or broken for fraying to begin.
