Still great even after 2 years of daily use (6-lb dog)
I've had this leash for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. There's hardly any wear from daily walks with my 6-lb dog. Also, despite that it's thick compared to other leashes commonly seen on toy breeds, it's light enough for my dog and the weight doesn't bother him. In fact, the slight heft feels nice and gives confidence to me that it won't break like some other thin leashes. Just overall a really comfortable leash that's become my favorite.
Holds Up Well!
I’ve had this leash for my energetic 25-pound dog for two years and it’s still great. More comfortable to hold than a flat leash and has stood up to pulling and minor chewing. It does get slightly “fuzzy” over time, but that doesn’t detract from function.

Perfect length
Needed a leash for puppy that wasn’t too long for training purposes. Worried it might be too short but not the case - perfect length. Will be ordering another for my other pup - he doesn’t like to be far from us on walks. With this leash we won’t have to roll up to make shorter.
poor snap durability
I really love this lead. It comes in the shorter length (my preference), very lightweight, strong rope, and easy to clean. I’ve bought a few but was disappointed when the spring of the clasp on my last one broke, which made the lead useless. I don’t know if quality is declining or this was a defect. It lasted me maybe 6 months and am hesitant to get a replacement. It’s too bad since everything else is great.
Excellent Quality After Using For Over 9 Months
We bought this when our puppies were 2 months and it's now been over 9 months of use and the ropes are still in great shape. I mean my dogs have chew every section of this leash, it's been dragged on the floor, you name it, it's been there. It's super easy to clean, I usually soak it with oxi-clean to get all the grime off. Best of all, the clip is small and the rope is very light. I'm impressed with how durable the rope is for the lightness. 5 stars +
Not the color I expected
First of all, I love Chewy! I shop here at least once a month and will continue. But this color of this “blue” leash appears “royal” on the site, while it is “turquoise” in person. I had purchased a Frisco Martingale collar for my new puppy in “blue” and was looking for a matching leash. This one looked close enough online. I have to say, Mendota leashes are very good quality. I used it in the past for my other pup. I just with they named the colors correctly.
Decent leash for small dogs
I haven't had a chance to use this leash yet. I bought it for my 10 pound chihuahua mix. It's the right length and nice and lightweight so I don't feel like it's too heavy for a small dog. The metal clasp seems kind of cheap and weak. That's my reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5.
