Border terrier loves them
By Minizoo on Feb 21, 2021
We buy all the varieties of the Merrick Lil Plates to give our dog some variety and he loves them all. I haven't had any of the issues that I've seen in other reviews - the boxes always seem clean and none of the containers were open. I would think an open or broken package is more an issue of shipping/packing and doesn't reflect on Merrick. As to the difficulty in opening the containers we don't have that issue either but perhaps someone older may - there's a balance between ensuring the seal remains intact and being too easily broken where the contents can spill or spoil. I'd prefer the former. I still use that creamer though because the product out weighs that inconvenience. … more

Not good fit for dog
By emiloula on Feb 23, 2021
My dog didn’t like it. she is picky so maybe it’s not for everyone. it doesn’t really smell good. my non picky dog didn’t really have any interest w it either. he eats everything, he is currently on a diet. i was surprised with the outcome. it doesn’t smell good. the meat bits are too rubbery and hard. if i wouldn’t not even touch it with my hand, i would never give it to my fur baby!! maybe it was just my experience. one star because i like the size the container comes in. very handy size. really like that part. but the quality of the product is not good.

Great for frozen Kongs!
By MillysReviews on Feb 11, 2021
I love using wet food to create frozen Kong treats for our dog, and these are a great option. One of these little trays will fill a medium Kong 2-3 times. I also love getting different varieties and was disappointed to see the wet food we used to buy doesn't come in variety packs on Chewy, so we decided to try these instead. I'm not going to lie, the cutesy names won me over (and they have a nice ingredients list, too). I am VERY averse to gross-looking wet food, and I have no problem feeding these. They look akin to the inside of a pot pie, with identifiable bits of meat, peas, carrots, etc., and the gravy isn't gel-like at all. We'll definitely be trying more Lil' Plates!

I just can't again
By momoftoothless on Jan 16, 2021
I agree with another review these just look nasty. My husband actually asked me this morning if the dog barfed in his bowl but it was just what this food looks like right out of the container. The containers are another issue. I ordered a variety of food to try out with our rather old dog after he lost the last of his teeth. These trays are very difficult to open compared to the rest. I have no idea how people have had issues with them opening in shipping. I often tear off the tab and then have to use a knife to open the container. I won't be buying these again. It is also ones that the dog doesn't readily eat up, likely he doesn't like how it looks either.

My non picky dog won’t eat this
By Mary on Feb 7, 2021
For some reason, my two dogs refuse to eat. I gave it some time to see if they’ll get use to it but they just refuse to eat this food which is weird. They’re not picky so it surprised me that they walk away the moment I reach out for the tray. I’m not sure if it’s the formulation as my older dog always puke after this (which is the first time this has happened).

Good Food When The Dog Deigns To Eat It
By Celya723 on Jan 24, 2021
My dog licks the bowl clean when she eats her own food and putting a heaping teaspoon on her kibble is just what she needs for shiny eyes, glossy fur, lots of pep and healthy bm's. The flavors in this box smell delicious when they're served and I'm grateful when my dog eats her own food. I wish there was an option to create your own case of food with the variety of tray food that Merrick offers but this is what's available. It's been an interesting experiment.

Sticking with Merrick
By Tammy on Feb 6, 2021
I split a container and mix it in with dry food for 2 dogs and they absolutely love it. In comparison of nutrition contents, Merrick seems to be a smidge higher than Blue Buffalo so we’ll stick with Merrick. The description states made for little dogs but my big dogs gobble it up

They love this!
By Ratlady on Feb 12, 2021
I have 3 small dogs but the oldest (15) is a fussy eater. Have been putting different food items w/ her kibble and some times it work. Got these little meals & put a bit on her food & she gobbled it all up! All 3 flavors are her favorite LOL.

Won’t buy again
By LoveMyFurbabies on Jan 1, 2021
I ordered this food because my Morkie needs grain free. He loves it but my issue is I’m not comfortable with the containers themselves. It seems to me putting a hole in it by accident would be easy. One of the packaged was swollen (reminded me of jiffy pop popcorn looks when it’s done) so I threw it out. Once the rest of the containers are gone I’m going to find him something that’s canned or packaged a different way

Merrick Lil’ Plates
By ShayCody on Feb 11, 2021
Our chihuahuas love the Merrick Lil’ Plates food, both wet and dry. The variety of flavors is one of great features. We have weened them off their old food and are switching over to an all Merrick diet.
