Compounding is a way for licensed pharmacists to create a customized medication that meets your pets specific needs. Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:
Always talk with your veterinarian about any concerns you have about your pets health so they can prescribe a treatment for your pets unique needs.

My dog had Giardia and needed to be on this antibiotic for 2 weeks. I spit out the pills, wouldn’t eat anything with Flagyl elixir in it because this medication tastes aweful. I ordered these capsules and he took all his meds with ease. Great product.
So happy to be able to give my dog the correct dose without having to chop up a pills!
As always a very easy process! I will continue to ordered what I can from Chewy. They are very helpful and friendly. The online shopping experience is very easy and user friendly.
My cat is on several medications. He no longer liked the pill pockets, I tried every flavor. He did love them at first, but apparently got tired of them. The capsules are easy to swallow. Of course you must master putting them in his mouth.
I was happy to see that this med came compounded because I hear the liquid is bitter. It was easy to give Shadow her meds.
This is something I keep on hand for puppy up set tummies, it works, how do you expect someone to rate something like this
The capsules were perfect size to get down his throat. Chewy is the only place that compounds this drug and puts it in capsules my cat can swallow. Metronidazole has the worst taste of any medication. And cats foam at the mouth and do all sorts of horrible stuff. Recommend this compound to any and all cats and dogs.
Metronidazole is a bitter tasting medication. My vet originally gave me tablets, but my IBD cat would spit it out and start foaming/drooling each time. If I mixed the crushed tablet into food, he wouldn't touch the food. I was at my wits end. I really didnt want to have to shell out the big bucks to have it compounded into a flavored chew. These capsules are a life saver. Now I use a piller to easily pill this medication. His stools are finally more on the solid side and he does seem to feel a lot better on this medication.
This medication was prescribed for my cat, Layla, who was suffering from severe diarrhea. I have never been successful getting her to take a pill or capsule. I mixed the contents of the capsule into a paté treat (those that come in tubes or sleeves). Mixed it well while in the tube. The paté and the medication went down easily. No problems. She couldn't tell ... if there was a difference in flavor.
How am I supposed to give these to my kitten? They're huge and not something you can crush.
