After reading all these great reviews I just had to order this cage for my hedgehog. I understand that this enclosure is intended for a guinea pig (not big enough for one let alone two guineas!), but it’s just not a well structured cage. When I received my package it wasn’t even taped shut and there wasn’t any wrapping in the oversized box, so the cage was just tossed around during shipping. When I tried to assemble it, I noticed that some of the paint and coating had already come off! The top doesn’t fit properly, and the corner pieces are spaced further apart than I had expected, which makes me worried that my hedgehog (or any other animal) could get stuck in between the bars. I bought two of the standard size of the Midwest. They are proper size for up to two guinea pigs. I had a grouping of all males, so I got two cages and connected them. (to do this, you would simply put the door panels down and buy a separate ramp cover). My pigs love it! They have chewed the sides of the cage a tad but it is not impacting the cage at all. Make sure when you are putting this together that the cage sides go on the OUTSIDE of the canvas bottom. You'll get a lot more stability. The bottom is covered in a rubberized coating to keep it waterproof, and my pigs have no issues with it. The coating holds up to wear and tear as well as a scrub brush for cage cleans. My Daughter has 2 little piggies and they each have their own cage. The bottom is made of a canvas like material so you need to put it on a hard surface. The top that came with our cages is an accordion type top with hooks. Whoever says piggies cannot jump is lying! haha Definitely recommend keeping the lid hooked closed. We have a shoe box in each cage, a food bowl and toys on the mat. The water and hay feeder hang on the sides. The pigs love the running room and it is easy to scoop up the litter with a dust pan.

We have 3 rescued guinea pigs who sometimes squabble so we used this habitat as a daytime extension to their hutch so they have more space to spread out if drama breaks out. I love this cage though, very little package waste and easy to set up. I love that I can put in the divider if I want and can put a top on if dogs come to visit who look at guinea pigs as snacks rather than friends. The bottom looks like it should clean up really nicely and when not in use it can be folded up for storage. Overall I love it.

Easy to set up and clean. Food, water and bedding are in the smaller side and fleece type blanket on the other where he sleeps. There's plenty of room for him to run laps around the larger area when he gets bursts of energy and he tends to take those loops up the ramp to the smaller side, around the wall, under the ramp, up the ramp and back to the larger side for some larger laps.

This cage is perfect size for 2 cavies and offers the flexibility to expand it by buying more of this cage type. I recommend this as store bought cages are always too small. This was easy to put together.

This was an amazing cage for my guinea pigs! I have two guinea pigs both very young and they absolutely love the cage! There were a lot of velcro straps, but it was easy to put together. It has so much room a very fun for the piggies. If you put bedding on the bottom, they may kick it away and scrath the canvas bottom a bit, but it's fine. Again they adore this cage, and it was so worth the buy!

I have 2 piggys, Frankie and Frank, they are brother and sister, don't worry Frank is neutered. Anyway, they LOVED this cage, it was a big upgrade. One of the best cages I've ever had. Inside the cage I have 2 hideys, hay, food bowl, (pellets), and their water bottle. They truly enjoy this cage, Oh, I forgot to mention, it's so easy to clean!!

This cage is huge compared to starter one we got a year ago. Love the canvas for easy clean up but I have 1 star to bottom of cage latches. We had reinforced the it with wire.

I got this cage for my sister’s guinea pig, who was in a much too small cage. The reviews for this habitat were great, so we decided to purchase it. Even though Chewy offered, 1-3 day shipping, we received it 5 days after we ordered it, although that might have been more of FedEx’s issue than Chewy’s. The habitat was very easy to set up and took less than 5 minutes. After we decorated it, we let our guinea pig, Cinnamon, test it out. She immediately went over to her food, feasted on some hay, then settled down for a nap. She seemed to adjust to the habitat very easily and loves how much space she has. This was a great purchase and is perfect for Cinnamon.
