  • Bottom Tray
  • Rope Perch
  • 2 Cupholders
  • 2 Cups
  • Metal Lever & Install Screw & Spring
  • Bottle of Touch-up Paint

Cage Assembly:

  1. On the bottom interior of both the FRONT and BACK PANELS there are 2 small prongs jutting up. Take the FRONT PANEL and either of the 2 SIDE PANELS and insert the hollow square tube at the bottom of the SIDE PANEL onto the top of one of the prongs.
  2. Once that has been done you can insert the small arm at the top interior of the FRONT PANEL into the sleeve located on the interior of the SIDE PANEL you have been working with. While holding the FRONT PANEL and SIDE PANEL together, take the BACK PANEL and insert the second hollow square tube on the bottom of the SIDE PANEL you have been working with onto the corresponding BACK PANEL lower prong.
  3. Once that has been done you can insert the small arm at the top interior of the BACK PANEL into the sleeve located on the interior of the SIDE PANEL you have been working with. With 3 of the PANELS now connected, take the remaining SIDE PANEL and hook each of the bottom hollow square tubes on the SIDE PANEL into the corresponding FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL prongs.
  4. Once that has been done you can insert the small arms at the top interior of the FRONT and BACK PANELS into the sleeves located on the interior of this second SIDE PANEL you have been working with.
  5. After the 4 primary panels are together, take the TOP GRATE with its 4 pairs of "feet" facing downward, and fit the 4 pairs of feet into the square tubes at the top of the 4 PANELS.
  6. Unscrew the balls on the LATCHES so that they are completely separated from the long portion of the LATCH. Take the long portion of the LATCH with the spring on the right side and insert it into any of the latch housings. Hold the LATCH inside the housing until you can see the threaded hole where the ball should be screwed inch Take the ball and screw it back into the threaded hole. Repeat for the other 3 LATCHES.
  7. To attach the PERCH HANDLE, align it so that its connector pieces are facing downward and are in the center of the TOP GRATE. The PERCH HANDLE is attached by slipping the connector piece's round hole over the screw on the center of each side panel. PLEASE NOTE: There are 2 positions the PERCH HANDLE can be used inch When carrying/picking up the POQUITO by its PERCH HANDLE, the PERCH HANDLE slides upward in the connector so that the cage can be safely carried without separating from the cage. When the cage is immobile and the PERCH HANDLE is used as a play area, the PERCH HANDLE should be pushed downward so that it "locks." This allows your bird to sit on top of it without the PERCH HANDLE moving around.
  8. Take the BOTTOM GRATE and slide it into the upper rail tracks.
  9. Take the BOTTOM TRAY and slide it into the lower rail tracks.
  10. Install the ROPE PERCH by unscrewing both ends of it, fitting the small slots on each exposed end of the ROPE PERCH in between any bar on the cage and then re-screwing the ends of the ROPE PERCH back on to it, but via the exterior of the cage.
  11. Install the CUPHOLDERS by fitting the 4 "feet" on the CUPHOLDERS into the 4 hollow tubes on the interior of the SIDE PANEL w/2 DOORS.
  12. Install the CUPS by opening the food doors and sliding the CUPS into the CUPHOLDERS.
  13. Assemble the METAL LEVER, and its installation SCREW and SPRING. Take the SCREW, fit the METAL LEVER over/onto it, and then fit the SPRING over the SCREW as well. When it is one complete piece, then screw the entire METAL LEVER assembly into the hole on the lower part of the FRONT PANEL. The METAL LEVER, when it is in the "Down" position, is designed to hold the BOTTOM TRAY and BOTTOM GRATE in place. When the BOTTOM TRAY and BOTTOM GRATE need to be removed, simply push the METAL LEVER to the side.

By Jodana on Sep 11, 2021

I like this travel cage. Sturdy and it is kind of heavy to travel with . But the rope perch does boy attach properly. It is nice but useless. I will update when I see if they will privide me with a new/different solution.

    Difficult parts

By Fred on Oct 14, 2021

Some of the parts don’t line up. Good bowl holders were hard to put in. Don’t over tighten the cage latches, they will not open.

    seems great

By heavyweight on Sep 24, 2021

Seems pretty sturdy. It’s a bit crooked and I had to straighten a few pieces to get it all to come together. Hopefully the birds love it and it travels well. We will see!

    Great cage

By Peggy on Apr 18, 2021

This cage worked out perfectly for our parrot to sleep in while we were travelling. Well made, solid construction. The customer service with Chewy was above 100% helpful

    Good not great!

By Adoxy on Feb 27, 2021

The material is fantastic super simple to install however, the door hinges to lock and open are very cheap plastic as knobs and the spring is so flimsy that it’s almost impossible to get the thing to open without using both fingers to pry it open.. other than that that is my complaint.

    Became permanent home.

By Snickerdoodle on Oct 22, 2020

My Quaker had a large free standing cage that she lived in for years but I bought this one for travel about three years ago. She doesn’t deal well with change so after she got used to it being different, she grew to like it better. I like how the whole front opens as it just remains open most of the time until it’s bed time. Very easy to clean. I had a little trouble getting all the parts to fit right at first (It kept popping apart) so I just used some zip ties to secure it. Carrying it by the cute handle is impossible for me; it’s heavy and unwieldy. It’s far easier to carry it by grabbing it on each side. I wouldn’t let that discourage a purchase though given that the weight is because My Quaker had a large free standing cage that she lived in for years but I bought this one for travel about three years ago. Great Small/Travel Cage

By CaiqLuver on Sep 2, 2020

Although the instructions for this Cage were tricky & you do need a rubber mallet to put the fixtures in place & the locks(latches were troublesome to follow with the manual(I played around with the latch parts supplied on my own & set it to where I felt they were secure)... Please do not let this stop you from purchasing this great little cage meant for up to a medium sized Parrot/Parakeet. It is truly well built & secure once in place & has nice stainless food bowls & a pull out tray bottom. The bars of the cage are close & thick enough to feel safe taking your Bird out for travel or as just a secondary smaller cage. It has a cute handle that can be used as a perch. Great, well-made, sturdy cage

By Jsayles on Sep 11, 2020

This cage is everything you might want for a small cage. The bottom pulls out for easy cleaning, the food dishes are accessible from the outside, the whole front opens for easy access. My only problem is the weight. I originally bought this cage as a travel cage, but am using is as a sleeping cage due to the weight.

    Great carry cage.

By Barbara on Sep 26, 2020

A much more comfortable carry cage than the small ones we had. I would easily recommend this purchase.

    poorly put together

By Beth on Jun 26, 2020

It comes assembly required and some of the holes don’t match up where they need to go, so I had it half put together with zip ties which they can easily chew through. I missed the window to return it so in the garbage it went.
