How easy is it to remove (& replace) the top half of the 19" or 22" model for full veterinarian access to a fraidy cat? Is the bottom sturdy by itself to support her during the exam? Thanks!
Answer by ChewyMar 01, 2018
This carrier uses snap-Lock buckles for quick assembly. The entire carrier is made of a sturdy plastic, you can leave your cat in the bottom half without any problems.

Which carriers have the top bar for pulling?
Answer by ChewyNov 18, 2017
The 27, 32, and 36-inch have the top bar for pulling. Please note, the wheels are sold separately as "MidWest Universal Crate Caster, 2-pack"

Are the dimensions provided the measurements of the inside or outside of the carrier?
Answer by ChewyJan 17, 2018
The outside and inner dimensions can be found on the size tab.

I don't want the wheels i will be using it to put my cat in it on the back seat my question is it looks like the bottom won't sit flat on the seat where the wheels would of gone.does anyone know.thanks
Answer by ChewyFeb 22, 2018
This product can sit flat without the wheels attached.

Not worth the money

For the price of these they should be more durable. Latches are constantly falling off and we have multiple carriers that have plastic breaking so that the doors no longer stay in place or lock properly. These were only used to travel back and forth to vets with kittens or young adult cats.

4 paws recommend

I needed to buy this easy to use kennel because I got 2 new kittens. When taking one of my girls to the vet, it's really easy to take off the top of the kennel buy a few snaps. Nice to know my kittens are safe traveling places. Definitely recommend

Unsafe, insecure - horror story

Please do not buy this kennel. It could be the difference between your pet staying safe with you or not. The door hinge plastic is incredibly weak, as other reviewers have noted (like Chris and breaux78). I tripped while holding the carrier with my cat in it. I dropped it and it opened from the door hinge side — not the side you open it from. My cat took off running at night, across a road, into rural woods I’m not familiar with. I’m so grateful i got him back safe. Not everyone would have been so lucky. It turns out the piece of plastic on the bottom door hinge broke. Other reviewers have mentioned their pets escaping the carrier without it even being dropped, like breaux78. DO NOT BUY THIS KENNEL. I sincerely hope Chewy removes this kennel from their website.

Cheap, thin, flimsy plastic

You'd think spending north of $40 would get you quality. Apparently I was wrong. This kennel is made from very thin, cheap plastic. Edges so thing you could cut with it. I wouldn't expect this kennel to last very long, especially if it constantly exposed to sunlight, which will make the pieces brittle. Unfortunately most of the customers won't realize this until the put their pet in it and the plastic starts cracking and breaking into shards that could injure your fur baby.

Great, clean & easy to assemble!

Our 2 Cairns love them! Sophie knows when we are getting ready to travel & she jumped right in & stayed for almost an hour!

Door issues

The part of the door that is supposed to remain stationary, keeps falling out of the clasp. So the door just falls out. Not sure if something is broken or a piece missing, but it doesn't work.

Great Kennel

I live in Louisiana, so my family has to evacuate often due to hurricanes and floods. When we got our new kitten, I needed something comfortable and safe for those long car rides during an evacuation. The first time we got it, our kitty climbed right in before I even got the door on. When it was was time for a vet visit, we got to test it out. Our last trip to the vet was very difficult, she cried the entire time. I was alone, so I had to drive and couldn’t comfort her. This time I brought my teenage daughter with us to help. Turns out it was the old crate she hated. She was in her new kennel this time, and didn’t meow in protest once during the whole trip. My teenage daughter was riding in the back seat with her, and on the way home, our kitty actually climbed in this kennel herself and went to sleep. As a reference, she is only 3 pounds right now, but there’s plenty of room for her to grow. It was easy to put together and felt very secure.

Midwest cheap plastic scrap

Cheap Plastic, nothing like my other carriers! None of the holes lined up and took a screw driver to pierce the holes. Pathetic and now of course it’s on sale. Midwest use to have good products. Disgusted, Waste of money. I don’t trust to put my 8lb. lil Rat Terrier in it.

Good carrier.

My 13.5-lb pomeranian feels too heavy for it I feel like unless I support the underneath with my hand while carrying him the handle might give out He seems to kind of slide around in it too.
