I am warning people AWAY from this product. I heard so many good things about it, I thought it would be the perfect addition to my dogs diet to help her fur. After a week of use we noticed her not being well, took her to the vet, and she got a UTI off this product! My vet told me he wasn't surprised, that he has heard of this before. So not only have a useless product, but an added vet bill on top, and an upset dog. If you go to try this product, pay VERY close attention to your baby, so you don't end up in the same boat I did.
I tried this with four different dogs of different ages, not one would eat their food with it added, I added hot water, milk, and can food they still wouldn't eat this stuff, don't know if this stuff works or not if I can't get the dogs to eat it.
My dog has inflammatory bowel disease, so she can’t digest many ingredients that are in traditional supplements. This Kelp supplement took ~6 weeks or so to fully kick in, but now my dog is shedding MUCH less, and her coat is so shiny and healthy! And the Kelp formula didn’t inflame her digestive system.
My 12 year old male Aussie mix doesn’t shed as much and has a thicker coat. Easy to put with his food and he eats every last bite! Missing link had great products.
It’s only been a couple of weeks since I started this for my dog Rex. I just put a scoop in with his food and he manages to eat most if not all of it every night. His coat is shiny and healthy. We’ve also started taking walks every night. We’ve both added a few lbs since quarantine started and are a bit out of shape. He’s been doing really well and not limping up the steps at night after his walk like he used to so I believe the kelp may be helping his joints too. I’m going to continue him on this supplement and hopefully he will improve even more. I recommend this.
This is my second bag which I bought from Chewy. First bag was purchased locally. Decided to go with Chewy for price and due to the fact I order other items from Chewy. After one bag it seems to help, so I decided to try a second bag due to the fact I am not sure how long it takes to work. I have not reached the level I would like to see, but like I said it seems to help. After going through the second bag I will have a better idea. My dog had a bad dry skin issue as well as very dry brittle fur. It is better so something in the supplement is working.
I do not recommend these at all. I bought this for my dogs and the kelp cat one and avian one for my cats and birds. I wish I didnt buy any of these, its cost me a fortune in vet fees. All the dogs had diarrhea until I stopped feeding this and a couple vomited after each meal. My cats and birds also became sick after using missing link products.
My 18 month old Weimaraner's coat is so silky after using this for just a few days and after a week or so the redness on the back of his lower legs and chewing and licking on his legs was no longer an issue. He's been taking the Missing Link Kelp for 30 days now. He had a second staph infection (legs and chest) twice, 9 months apart. Basic blood/allergy test revealed allergies to molds, mites and inhalants. He was on an antibiotics each time and after the second staph infection. I then started the kelp missing link after the meds were completed. It's been 30 days without redness, etc. ( I had tried the original missing link(months ago), finished the entire bag- with really no change to silkiness or redness) With the Kelp I use 1/3 of what the directions suggest because I'm being cautious with the kelp and potential thyroid issues that it can cause-I think the Missing Link is probably more controlled than other brands. I've always given him a couple teaspoons of salmon oil, separate from his food bowl each morning, so I put the salmon oil over the kelp powder and he gobbles that mixture up each morning before even touching his food. (He turned his nose up at the plain powder, unlike the original missing link blend, so I mixed with the salmon oil) Will continue to purchase.
Vinnie is a bi black Shelty with long beautiful silky hair. His hair is so soft you can't stop petting him.
This product is fabulous. My dog's coat is super shiny! My daughter started using it for her dogs about two years ago. I bought it for my own dog. Now my neighbors used use it too. I add it to my dog's food she loves it.
