About Modesto Milling

Modesto Milling was established in 1974 as a dairymen’s co-op. In 1997, a group of local dairymen convinced the Board of Directors to start manufacturing organic dairy grain mixes. By January 1998, Modesto Milling gained its organic certification from Oregon Tilth of Salem, Ore. They became the first organic grain processor in Central California, and ever since, Modesto Milling has been manufacturing high quality organic feed for many different types of livestock.

Questions & Answers

3 Customer Questions

Hi.if I feed this to my Sheep do I need to also supplement with a mineral Feed since this has minerals added? Also, how much would You feed at a time? These can be given in conjunction with pasture as well?

Answer by ChewyMay 12, 2020
It is always recommended to have free choice salt available. Feed with your dry roughage about 1 to 2 pounds of the organic feed to lactating ewes to maintain milk production and body weight. Access to pasture is very important and the organic feed will compliment pasture.

Can this be fed to rams as well?

Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2023
This feed is fine for rams, however, with the product being organic it will not include any additives to prevent rams from developing urinary calculi.
