Does the cat-face-shaped one have one or two openings? The retangular one I purchased a few years ago opens at each short end.

I wanted to like this mat, since it's adorable. I've had this mat for a few years now. It's difficult to clean out/empty. If too much litter is tracked out, it gets stuck in the holes, especially if wet or damp. I also do not use clay litter, so I cannot comment on that, but if you use anything other than the typical gray litter, would not recommend. Overall, I don't care for it very much.

I thought there would be a bigger opening to let the litter slide out. So it takes more wiggling around with this than I'd like to be touching it. The bottom is

Sadly, this litter mat did not work for my cats. They refused to step on it, instead launching themselves from the floor, over the mat, into the litter box and again upon exiting the box. Litter flew everywhere during the launch. After 2 weeks, I removed the mat, as they never got used to it

Close to Perfection

I have an extra large litter mates like this one, but it opens differently, and I needed another one, but the sizes they come in are too large, and also thicker

I have an extra large litter mates like this one, but it opens differently, and I needed another one, but the sizes they come in are too large, and also thicker. This one, aside from being cute, picks up litter beautifully, is just the right size for my bathroom, and because of where I have to put it, the door can open all the way. It isn't as easy to clean as the other because of the way it opens, but SOOOO much better than any other litter mat.

The Best Litter Mat Ever!

My apartment has charcoal gray color carpeting and a dark wool couch. All prior litter mats I purchased did not prevent my cat from leaving trails of litter everywhere

My apartment has charcoal gray color carpeting and a dark wool couch. All prior litter mats I purchased did not prevent my cat from leaving trails of litter everywhere. This mat is amazing! No litter on the bathroom floor, no litter on the carpet and no litter on the couch. Plus, you pour the litter collected in the second layer of the mat back into the litter box. No waste. Don't bother with other mats. This is the one to buy.
