Our 3 dogs love this food, and I picked it because our heeler has allergies and this food didn't have as many triggers in it and he has t seemed to itch much while

Our 3 dogs love this food, and I picked it because our heeler has allergies and this food didn't have as many triggers in it and he has t seemed to itch much while eating it. I was excited to try it and maybe switch foods. However... This food says to feed 2.25-3 cups for a 40-60 pound dog, at 515 cals per cup. Their current food is 2¼-2¾ cups for a 36-50 pound dog, at 405 cals per cup. And they gain weight eating their current food. So I don't think we could feed this food by itself without our dogs either starving, or gaining weight. But other than that, we have no issues. Just too high in calories for our pack

This 25lb bag of food contains 30% crude protein and 20% crude fat which has a higher energy content then what I had previously been feeding my dogs. I always mix the new and old food together for a few days to allow my dog's stomachs some time to adjust to a new food. I noticed the kibble pieces are smaller than most brands I've fed in the past, which makes it a great option for dogs of all sizes including small breeds. My 65lb border collie/dalmation mix and 45lb boxer/cocker spaniel mix both went crazy when the bag was brought in, and one even snuck a few bites in as I was filling up the storage container. This is a good choice for active dogs or dogs at a healthy weight, and a good choice for households with dogs of various sizes.

This seems to be a good quality dog food, one of our dogs loves it-she loves everything and our other picky eater she likes it when she feels like eating. We are still incorporating it with their other food. The kibble is quite small so it would work for small breeds as well as large breeds. It is locally sourced (I think Texas) and made in the USA. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
