Reapply after swimming or bathing and every few hours as necessary. Please consult your Vet if your pet has open sores or hot spots before use.
Because pets can get skin cancer too!Just like how we humans use SPF to stay away from skin cancer, our pets can also get the same cancers like basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and even melanoma. While basal cell carcinoma is the most common for humans it is the least common for dogs. Theirs is the more invasive; the squamous and melanoma. And yes, our furry friends are often covered in, well, fur! This does act as natural sun protection for most breeds and most of a dogs body. But what about the tummy, ears, and especially the nose? That’s where taking the proactive action of limiting your dogs exposure to the sun and protecting them with a sunscreen come in.But that doesn’t mean human sunscreen either! Human sunscreen blocks UVA and UVB rays using chemicals, like Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide. These are safe for humans but not on pets! The chemicals are toxic and can even be fatal if ingested! Even baby sunscreens can contain chemicals that are harmful to your pets. So please only use products that are meant for your pet, like My Dog Nose It!
This is uncharted territory folks. We’ve contacted the American Cancer Society and statistics on pets are, by their knowledge, not yet tracked. What we do know? That it’s on the rise. For humans, current statistics indicate that 1 in 5 people will have some form of skin cancer in their lifetime. Perhaps statistics for animals will be available in the near future.
PLEASE do not apply human sunscreen to your pet. Most ingredients, while safe for humans, are very poisonous for our beloved family members. DON’T USE SUNSCREEN ON YOUR PETS!
Yes! My Dog Nose It is completely safe for your beloved family member! You can even take a look at our full ingredient list under our shop and order now section of this website. It not only shows each active and inactive ingredient but also details where it is derived from and what it is used for. My Dog Nose It is proud to be all natural, vegan, cruelty and paraben free.
When playing outdoors or in the water we recommend applying a thin layer every two hours.
My Dog Nose It is a clear, velvety smooth balm that dries quickly and is water resistant.
Out and about with your buddy and forgot your lip balm or lotion? Yes, go ahead and protect yourself too.
We did not use an SPF number as we do not want to associate with human sunscreen. Our product is designed to protect from the harmful rays of the sun and environment, as well as heal and add moisture.

Ingredient #1: Ensulizole, which is "Known to produce free radicals when exposed to sunlight, leading to damage of DNA..." You know what DNA damage is right? It's the cancer you're hoping to avoid by applying this product. Do better!
I have a white American Staffie who burns easily in the direct Colorado sun. I think this sunscreen overall worked in preventing sunburn, but it turned my dog yellow. Like yellow enough that people commented every time I used it and asked what was wrong with her. I am on the hunt for another sunscreen that doesn’t turn my white dog yellow!
I am very pleased with this product! To start with, it came wrapped in such a way that it could not leak. The sun screen smells good, is light and not greasy. The bottle sprays a fine mist. Best of all my dog does not mind it. I cover his face to spay on his body, spay it on my hand to apply to his face and ear leathers. After being treated he shakes once and goes on about his business.
My new Boxer/Italian Greyhound rescue has a very thin coat, white/pink/fairly hairless nose, chest, and paws. I like that I can spritz her chest and paws with this. It goes on lightly, doesn't have a strong scent, and so she does not try to lick it off which is good. I'm having a harder time applying to her nose (& avoiding her eyes!) because I have large hands and she has a small snout. I think the cloths (different vendor) might work better for that but they are way too expensive to use multiple times a day every day. I'm going to try spraying a cotton ball with My Dog Nose It and dabbing it on that way. Then I can just put a few in a ziploc bag for day-long outings. Cannot fully attest to sunscreen properties since I have no history with this dog yet, and summer is just now kicking in here, but I am definitely seeing fewer pink noses now.
We have not actually used it yet. Our dogs nose was blistered and we are waiting for it to heal. She has autoimmune lupus which we didnt know. It is the more common type. she cant be in sun cause of the uV Ray's. Our vet suggested sun screen but not human kind. I'm sure this product will work for her.
I love this, I mainly use it on my Dalmatians but I also use it on a husky, with the longer coats it works easier using a kong zoom brush
This sunscreen is thick enough it could probably be used on an adult. I’ve never used dog sunscreen before so I don’t know what it’s suppose to feel like. It’s great for nose and ears but my dogs hair is longer and it was very sticky. I even brushed his coat later to get it out and had to use water. Again, great for those sensitive areas though!
My bully has very short fur, with soft pink nose, belly, and toes. Spray goes on easy, absorbs quick. Not heavy, not wet, no smell. Super quick to apply.
He still seems to burn. Did not really care for this product
