So much softer than the old ones

My ferret (Kyoko) had stopped eating the ones that came in the prior packaging (because they started arriving really hard the last year or so that we purchased them,

My ferret (Kyoko) had stopped eating the ones that came in the prior packaging (because they started arriving really hard the last year or so that we purchased them, and softening them in the microwave, with a sprinkling of water, was just not cutting it, in Kyoko's opinion. But the sticks in the new packaging always arrive nice and soft! Kyoko is back to devouring them again with gusto ❤️

Why did they change these sticks? Was it to go to cheaper ingredients? My ferrets won't touch them. I wonder if they even tested these on ferrets. Hoping this is

Hoping this is only a trial and they go back to the original sticks soon. Because these are not worth buying ever again. I usually buy 20+ bags every 3 months. Chewy, please update me if you go back to the original sticks.
