*A standard 8 oz measuring cup holds approximately 4 oz (.25 lb) of Native Premium Dog Food. For Puppies Puppies may start nibbling around 4-5 weeks of age. You may feed Native Puppy dry, but moistening may enhance acceptance. If desired, self-feeding may be started at any age after weaning. If puppies are not self feeding, but on a schedule, feed them 3 times per day up to 6 months of age and 2 times per day from 6 months to 1 year of age. Provide plenty of fresh water.
For Pregnant Females Using the feeding directions, offer 50% more food during pregnancy.
For Lactating Females Using the feeding directions, offer 2-3 times the normal amount of food.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
