Can I use this as a preventative for my dog without a confirmed bladder stone diagnosis?

Is your product made to break down only the more common stones, mostly caused by poor diet/lack of hydration? Or is it made to help with types that have a genetic cause as well- specifically cystine? If so, how does the process work, exactly?

Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2021
Break It Up is formulated as a primary anti-lithic for all types of stones, including kidney, bladder, gall bladder and liver crystals, stones, sludge, gravel, calculi, etc. Compositionally it may help break down beyond the more common struvite and oxalate stones, including silica, cysteine, magnesium, phosphorous, etc. accumulations. Our ingredient deck includes specific herbs with varying potential stone breaking actions that may help break down active crystal or stone formations, but also may help supply the enzymes that can be deficient that normally work to block crystals and stone from forming. Further, it also contains ingredients that may help build foundational tissues that are missing in the kidneys, bladder, etc. that are also vital in helping to work to help block irregular compositional formations. These actions are necessary because once a crystal, stone, UTI is experienced, there is over an 80% chance it will become a systemic problem for the animal. In formulating for not only potential active forms but also potential preventative forms, it may not only help your pet overcome the present issue but may also help provide support against future occurrences.

Palatable to my dog

My dog will put up with this sprinkled on her food as long as I add a little water and mix it up really well. Too soon to know if it's actually working - praying

My dog will put up with this sprinkled on her food as long as I add a little water and mix it up really well. Too soon to know if it's actually working - praying this actually breaks up her bladder stones. She's only 6# and 14 years old. The idea of an expensive and risky surgery on her old, tiny body is what spurred me to give this product a try. Please send good thoughts our way for success!

Breaks it up!

My older dog is on the SO urinary food for bladder stones & has been for 4 or 5 years after having bladder stone surgery. Even so he has still suffered off & on

My older dog is on the SO urinary food for bladder stones & has been for 4 or 5 years after having bladder stone surgery. Even so he has still suffered off & on with stones. He is an older dog & we didn’t want to put him through another surgery & I found this product & thought I’d give it a try. His urine stream has been pretty much back to normal. Before this product he was dripping urine after trying to urinate & his urine steam was very poor. It has not totally eliminated the stone problem, granted every dog is different, but it has helped him tremendously.

Definitely Recommend

I have a finicky chihuahua, and she still enjoys the taste! She feels a ton better since I put her on it. I would definitely recommend!

WORKS wonders

I used this for both my small dog and my cat. One had stones and one had crystals. I mixed into their wet food and even the cat didn't object to smell or taste

I used this for both my small dog and my cat. One had stones and one had crystals. I mixed into their wet food and even the cat didn't object to smell or taste. After day 2 the dog wasn't yelping when trying to urinate and by day 3, normal litter box habits were back. Neither will eat the prescription diets, (we tried) and so I was relieved to find this inexpensive product that did the job. The surgeries for both would have been a staggering 6K. After calling Natura Petz, they suggested 3-4 months use if this is the first stone cycle. $120.00 and no surgery vs 6K and a difficult surgery?. THANK YOU

Not Sure But

I had to stop adding this to my little old man’s food because it was affecting his stools. It seemed to make them very soft. I did try to back off on the amount

I had to stop adding this to my little old man’s food because it was affecting his stools. It seemed to make them very soft. I did try to back off on the amount and that still did not seem to help. I was hoping because the little guy seems sick of his SO RX food.
