how can you tell if the stones are broken down
Answer by • Apr 12, 2022
There is no “magic” timeframe of use, however, if it is the first stone cycle and a small breed animal, then 3 months is generally an appropriate time of use. If it is not the first stone cycle, then the time frame of use is 4-6 months. If it’s a large breed, then 4-6 months is the norm for the first cycle, and generally, even if it’s a second cycle or more, usually a 6 month period of use is sufficient. Generally symptoms are a strong indicator of how the pet is responding. Crying, yelping, straining, inability to void (this could be a medical emergency referred to as urethral blockage), little to no urine emitted anxiety, pacing, panting, etc. are all symptoms of stones and/or urinary inflammation and infection. If the pet is displaying any of these signs, and after 3-6 months use, they return, that indicates more time is needed, but it is usually rare. Always consult with your veterinarian for best results.
Does this work on calcium oxalate stones in cats and are there any precautions or conditions it should not be used in?
Answer by • Jul 16, 2025
The types of stones, gravel, crystals and grain that are managed gently yet effectively may include calcium oxalate, struvite, uric acid, cystine, calcium phosphate, silica and xanthine stones. This supplement is contraindicated for pets that are pregnant, nursing, hypotensive, diabetic, on blood thinners or diuretics, without Vet supervision. Possibly contraindicated for pets with allergies to eggplant, a night shade plant. Strongly anti-microbial.
