Adult cats: Adult cats should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Chicken Dry Cat Food, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the table. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your cat’s needs. If you would like to provide a special treat for your cat, you can add small amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food. Gestating and Lactating Queens: Gestating and lactating queens will consume more food, usually an additional 1/2 - 2 daily. Older cats: As your cat begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for your less active cat. Older cats are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods. Adding larger amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food will help the most "finicky" eater enjoy their daily meals.
These feeding guidelines are suggested only. Feeding amounts may vary by breed, activity level, temperament and climate. Amounts are recommended for an average cat with normal activity.
We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your cat’s health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your cat. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your cat’s diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Venison Dry Cat Food. The change should be completed after 5 - 7 days.

Finicky cat likes it!
By Anna on Feb 12, 2021
My cat has eaten a prescription dry food for years ... not for the medicinal qualities but because it was the ONLY dry food she would eat. An 8 lb bag went from $50 to almost $70 and was completely discontinued at the end of 2020. Having tried to find a cheaper dry food before, I was in a panic about being forced to find a replacement. The Rx food was pea and venison flavor so when I found this Natural Balance dry food in green pea and venison flavor - at half the price!! - I decided to give it a try. AND SHE LIKES IT!! Disaster averted! I hope your finicky eater will like it too!

My cat LOVES this food.
By Jess on Jan 2, 2021
I was feeding my cat wholehearted duck limited ingredient wet/dry food but they stopped making it. I switched to a different brand of duck limited ingredient food but my cat ended up having a severe allergic reaction to it resulting in several horrible hot spots. I was desperate to find a meat he hadn't had before. I was very hesitant, but I know how wonderful Chewy is with returns so I thought I'd give it a try. Well. Let me just say it's love at first bite. He is still a bit itchy, but I think that may be from his old food since I didn't want to switch him instantly to a brand new food he hasn't had before. I'm hoping this will be the answer!

Nice alternative for cats w/o allergy issues
By Lynp on Jan 22, 2021
It's good to find alternative proteins. I would like to see more of them on the market. Hard to find any (although there are raw and other versions, I suppose) that do not have some form of known allergen for many cats - fish, poultry, pork, beef, or peas, potato, etc. Regardless, this is good for my healthy cats. I have to use a hydrolyzed protein kibble for my allergy cat.

I got this for my kitty with digestive issues and he loves it and so does my other 3 kitties. This makes it easier at feeding time

It worked for my cat
By Good on Jan 7, 2021
One of my cats is picky, had tear stains, tears and eye crust build up. I switched both the food and litter and something worked! His eyes have improved and he enjoyed the food as well. I have no complaints!

Benefits of this product for my cat
By Mycatownsme on Oct 19, 2020
Switching my cat to this limited ingredient diet has resulted in noticeable benefits for my seven-year-old cat. Firstly, she has more energy and sleeps a little less. Secondly, removing grains and multiple animal-sourced ingredients from her diet has resulted in much more regular (productive) bowl habits - an issue for older indoor cats in my experience. A favorite choice is the venison formula.

Food Allergies
By Callie on Sep 24, 2020
We have been to the vet and it seems my cat has bad food allergies esp to chicken & turkey. The vet had him on prescription food which was so expensive and yet he was still vomiting atleast once a week if not more. We then started shots once a month plus the prescription food and as soon as the shot would wear off after 30 days we were back to puking. Finally i read and read reviews and googled and we tried this and it has been a life saver. No more vomiting FINALLY!!!!

my cats LOVE this food!
By Justine on Oct 12, 2020
My cat Simba needs a limited diet due to a skin condition. He had no problem switching to this food. In fact, my other cat (with no allergies) was jealous of this food and now they are both eating this. It's been a year now and they are both very excited to eat this with no digestion issues.

Great for food allergies and sensitivities
By Rae507 on Aug 26, 2020 Top 500 Contributor
We tried many different prescription and limited ingredient foods without any success for our multiple cats with food allergies, sensitivities, IBD and GI lymphoma. This is the only food we were able to find that has worked for them all, and the only one that did not have any egg, chicken products and corn. (The joys of multiple allergic cats!) No more stomach issues, and their coats and weights are perfect. Our vet is very happy with how well they are doing, and two have resolved their symptoms enough to avoid going on medication therapy at this time.

My kitty didn’t like it
By Njj1 on Jun 22, 2020
Unfortunately my kitty didn’t like this. It really is a great quality food though! I recommend trying it but I just think it might not be very palatable.
