Adult cats: Adult cats should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Chicken Dry Cat Food, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the table. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your cat’s needs. If you would like to provide a special treat for your cat, you can add small amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food. Gestating and Lactating Queens: Gestating and lactating queens will consume more food, usually an additional 1/2 - 2 daily. Older cats: As your cat begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for your less active cat. Older cats are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods. Adding larger amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food will help the most "finicky" eater enjoy their daily meals.

These feeding guidelines are suggested only. Feeding amounts may vary by breed, activity level, temperament and climate. Amounts are recommended for an average cat with normal activity.

We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your cat’s health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your cat. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!

Transition Instructions

When switching your cat’s diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Venison Dry Cat Food. The change should be completed after 5 - 7 days.

  • New Food Option For My Four Furry Babies

    By on

My babies had been on Royal Caine Pea and Venison and after on older cat passed I switched them to a different food. When I saw this new brand and it does not require a prescription I opted to give it a try. Right now I'm feeding them 1/2 Natural Balance LID Green Pea and Venison and 1/2 Artemis hoping to get them totally on the new Natural Balance LID Green Pea and Venison. So far so good. One of my babies had always had the Royal Caine Pea and Venision and after switching to a no grain chicken food I realized she didn't so as well with eating chicken so was thrilled to find this option on Chewy.com. • Worked when RX hypoallergenic diet did not

    By on

I had switched my cats to Hill's d/d venison and green pea kibble last fall after the Royal Canin Selected Protein venison became unavailable. This supposedly hypoallergenic Hill's made my cats break out in scabs; I also learned that it has a much higher fat content than similar diets, which neither of my 10-year-old cats needs. The Natural Balance L.I.D. cleared the scabs in less than three weeks, costs about half of a RX hypoallergenic diet and has much less fat than the Hill's. And my cats like it just fine. Highly recommended!

  • Thank you for this recipe!

    By on

I have a cat who is allergic to both seafood AND chicken! You can imagine how hard it has been to find a dry food that she can eat. This is one of the rare few that I found, that she is able to digest. Thank you so much for making this!

  • Excellent Food

    By on

My vet recommended getting a dry cat food with Venison. I was hesitant at first, not knowing how my many cats would take to this new food, and I have some that are very picky eaters. Well all my cats LOVE it!

  • Great food for cats with multiple allergies!

    By on

As my Daisy has gotten older, she started scratching the outside of her ears and was throwing up more often. After much trial and error (and many bottles of carpet cleaner) I figured out that she turned into a "gorge and purge" cat (easy to manage) but also had food allergies. Oh how she loved her cat food with chicken. That had to go away as eliminating that worked...for a while. Switched to salmon. That worked..for a while. And duck. Loved it...but nope. Hoping to get the fur back on her ears (after all, some of her scratching fits caused bleeding!), I decided to try a unique protein. And...so far, so good! Hardly scratching at all. What a change from a week ago. She's still getting a tiny bit of the Natural Balance LID with duck (slow transition...and may continue it if she can handle it). Fingers crossed this works...and she'll continue. And I have to give 5 stars to your customer service as well. I called to find out when the Green Pea and Venison would be in stock (we're not ready for more but I was worried it was discontinued and I was transitioning her to a food that wouldn't be available). I was reassured that this was only temporary. But the person I spoke with couldn't have been more helpful and soooo nice! This was my first Chewy order and it won't be my last. And for those experiencing a cat with food allergies, give this a try. … more

  • Perfect for sensitive stomachs

    By on

After trying numerous brands and varieties of dry cat food, this is the best by far for sensitive stomachs. Venison is the active ingredient.

  • The food that helped save my George

    By on

My cat George has bad food allergies that have only gotten worse with age. This is the food she will keep eating and which has been the best for her by far. And all three of my other cats like it, too! I had another cat with allergies before her, and we also fed him Natural Balance--both the Venison & Green Pea and the Duck & Green pea. Highly recommend these LID foods for cats with food allergies.

  • Great for my kitty's tummy!

    By on

My younger cat has bad food allergies which just seemed to wreck her digestion and our carpet. She was sluggish and overall fairly miserable. I got this after hearing some reviews about LID food. Both our allergy kitty and our other healthy cat simply LOVE this food. After about a week, her energy levels have really perked up (it helps when you don't feel sick!) and her stool is now regular; no more cleaning up!

  • Kitties meow for more!

    By on

Before I bought this kibble, we had been feeding our cats the salmon and green pea kibble. While they liked that well enough, their bowls never fully emptied and they never yowled at me for more. The moment I opened this bag, my small cats practically tackled me to get to their dishes. They LOVE this kibble, and have returned to their habit of yowling at me whenever they see any part of the bottoms of their bowls. It's hard explaining to cats that I can't finish pouring their kibble if they're head-butting my hand holding the bag out of the way so they can begin eating.
