My cat went on a novel protein diet this year and we tried this food, trusting the packaging when it said “Duck”. We didn’t realize it had chicken proteins (liver and hearts), which had been causing GI sensitivities previously, the whole reason we have been trying novel protein. It was most definitely my responsibility to check the ingredients list more carefully before purchasing, so of course this rating applies to ME as the consumer. However, I’m knocking points off because I’ve noticed that many other brands include the multiple protein sources on their packaging front and center. It doesn’t seem to be a problem for them. It makes sense to me that if you’re marketing a wet food as “Duck”, and it includes chicken liver and hearts as well, disclosing “duck and chicken” on the packaging would be beneficial for customers to make easier and safer decisions. All the other duck and rabbit-based foods we have tried have only contained those protein sources and are marketed as such, so I trusted that when this food said “duck” it meant “duck”, and not “duck with some chicken”. Gotta foolproof the product for fools like me who don’t think to double check the ingredients list! Lesson learned!

I have 2 finicky cats fed wet food 2x day and would reject pate type wet food. The one food I could get them both to eat was reveal fish in broth. One cat, he's not a food enthusiast, sniffed this but wouldn't eat it. 2nd cat, Leica, devours it. She prefers this to the reveal. I was thinking about changing her diet because she has skin issues. i was happy to be offered this duck pate. I was surprised and glad she likes it so much. I feel the ingredients are healthier for her than the reveal. Duck is main ingredient which will help with her allergy issues. I think it offers her more necessary nutrients than the reveal. I'd give it 5 stars but 1cat didn't eat. Leica, my torti, loves it.

Okay, first, my cat is a rescue and she was super skinny when I got her... so you think she'd love any type of canned food, right? WRONG. She is SO picky and we have tried countless pates, broths, shreds with gravy etc. She'll eat new food one day, maybe two, then turn her nose up at it. WELL. She has eaten this food FOUR DAYS IN A ROW so far!!! I don't know if it's the protein (we usually get her fish or chicken, and this is duck) or what, but she just loves it. I'm hoping that the extra protein in the food helps her put on weight as well. Looks like it is working so far!

I wasn’t sure how my cats would feel about duck, but surprisingly my picky eater really liked this! Pate usually isn’t their favorite so I was surprised. It’s a good consistency and doesn’t have a super pungent odor. I was a little disappointed to see 2 types of fish (whitefish and tuna) listed in the ingredients as one of my cats can’t have fish, so I do wish this was more explicitly obvious in the flavor.

I have four cats and none of them want it. I moisten it thinking maybe it was a little too dry, but that did not seem to make a difference. It’s too bad because the ingredients look super healthy.
