Natural Balance does not regularly test their products for purine levels, so they do not have purine-related data available to share. However, the Natural Balance vegetarian formulas or treats may be the best fit for your dog since purines are often associated with animal proteins. We recommend discussing with your veterinarian prior to switching your pet's diet.

What source is the taurine from in your vegetarian formula?

Natural Balance's Vegetarian formula is indeed supplemented with taurine. The taurine used is not sourced from animal protein; this formula is vegan. This formula has a taurine content minimum of 12.0% on a dry matter basis.

Riley, my German Shepherd has allergies and out of desperation I decided to try vegetarian food. He loves it, as does his sister, Annie. It was a very easy transition, as they both loved it from day one. Still early to say whether or not it helps Riley’s itching, but it does seem to be not as bad as before. Do not hesitate to try this food for your dog, big success in my home!

My dog has dealt with allergies her whole life - bad ear infections and redness / itchiness of her skin. I’ve tried prescription diets, cutting out certain foods, supplements, medication, etc., and nothing has worked. This food has been what has helped her most. Although her skin issues and ear infections haven’t gone away completely, I know switching to this food has helped significantly. She’s also very enthusiastic about eating now, which she never has been before.

Marcus is the dad and mother is Coco and SeaBiscuit is the son. Was still dry undigested coming out in poo! Wanted desperately for it to work allergy issues and went with this brand that offered a vegetable base protein. It was high in price and Coco had to visit the veterinary hospital as she started throwing up blood. It’s a guess but I think it stuck inside her belly and irritated the walls. That’s only an opinion but I believe it to be true! So now I can’t give this away or afraid to not even to raccoons! Vet bill 261 and change. I do not support or suggest it’s use. People you own Yorkshire terriers know how sensitive their stomachs are perhaps larger dogs with bulletproof stomachs still would be afraid

This food gave my dog horrible diarrhea. I was really hopeful it would help my dogs allergy problem but her stomach couldn't handle it.

This is the most easily accessible and affordable plant-based kibble I've found. Our 13.5 year old Golden mix has perfect bloodwork, and still acts like a younger dog. Our two younger Goldens love this, too. I love that it meets the AAFCO nutritional standards so I don't need to worry about any missing nutrients.

Delivery

The driver met me outside & I showed him where to put the deliveries. As requested since January 2025 I requested the deliveries be placed in the white small shed

The driver met me outside & I showed him where to put the deliveries. As requested since January 2025 I requested the deliveries be placed in the white small shed next to front door & closed. He said he would do that in the future so hopefully next time my delivery will be as requested. The food is great for my dog. He said his company is doing all deliveries from now on. He was in a budget van but didn't say the name of his company.
