Do NOT buy this! It’s dangerous! The wood came off in huge, sharp splinters. My dog ingested some of them and threw them up. I had to monitor him and make sure he didn’t have any bowel perforations. Since it was a “free” item during a promo, chewy wouldn’t/couldn’t give me a refund. This production should be pulled and NOT sold.

Within minutes my pit bull started breaking off chunks of wood. He somehow managed to parade his new toy around the house because he left a trail of little wooden splinters behind him. At this point I had no choice but to take his new toy that didn't even last a whole 20 minutes. Disappointed.
Had high hopes
I have a strong chewer who destroys toys. Thought this was a better option than plastic but the wood broke off in chucks and splintered. Thought it was dangerous

Good for dogs who like to chew

I still cannot believe I'm buying stick for my dogs! BUT, Coffee Wood kind of crumbles, rather than splinters, when it gets wet with saliva. You may get crumbles on the floor/dog bed with these. I find it best to use the biggest diameter the dog can fit into its mouth to prevent it biting down with great force. Because these aren't as rigid as most of the plastic chews they are easier on my older dog's teeth. If you happen to get one with a large split in it, do return and exchange. I've only received one like this in several years and more than 10 chews. These are my Cattle Dogs new favorite chews. I wouldn't rank my boys as heavy duty chewers (not like my Pibble or Irish Wolfhound, for example) but dogs that have quite strong bite strength and just want something to chomp on when they are bored. My foster puppies also love them for teething and seem to prefer them above most of the many, many other toys of all textures and densities. With the exception of stuffed Kongs and food puzzle toys, but calories do need consideration. When they get too small for safety I throw them out as I do with any other toy.
Ditch the plastic!
This is a great, tough chew toy, and I highly recommend it over the other types of "wood" sticks that also contain plastic which can be ingested.

I was really hoping my girl would love this. I have approximately 938 toys and she only wants to chew sticks outside or wood from my dad’s pile of scrap wood from building cabinets. She chewed on it briefly the first time I gave it to her and never touched it again. I am trying to think of alternative ways to interest her. Maybe soaking it in chicken broth or rubbing peanut butter on it. It’s a good size piece of wood. It’s smooth on the outside and seems like it wouldn’t splinter at all. I suspect she likes real wood because of the bark and being easily breakable.
Quality wood product
Wood is strong and holds it for well I have a shepherd cross who really likes chewing on sticks and this is a challenge for her

Not as advertised for strong and long-lasting
Got this as my dog likes to chew on branches that fall in the yard. It last less than 5 minutes before he had it split in two. It's listed as strong and long-lasting
Got this as my dog likes to chew on branches that fall in the yard. It last less than 5 minutes before he had it split in two. It's listed as strong and long-lasting but that was not the case. He is considered a large dog at 50lbs and its listed for small and medium dogs. It was a good size for him but this is not for a power chewer like he is. Feels like a soft wood that is easy for me to split where he started on another spot.
Broke in pieces almost immediately
Poppy loves sticks outside so we thought this would be a good alternative- it splintered almost immediately and had to be taken away.

Durable
My dogs love these. They last long as well. The only downside is the wood chips, which I suppose I should have expected haha. Would buy again.
