Instructions
Apply 1-4 pounds/500 square feet. Apply as a thin layer over entire surface of porch, walkway and driveway. Apply early to prevent ice build-up and bonding. For large accumulation, clear excess snow and spread on remaining stubborn ice or packed snow.

Sticks to surfaces
While we found that this product worked very well to melt ice and snow, after it melted, the product stuck to the deck and the patio. We have dogs, and the puppy was limping and laid down because of the discomfort of the product, which is prickly. For now, that prohibits us from using the deck for the dogs.
Great product
This product worked extremely well. It did not bother paws and it did not destroy the grass when the snow and ice melted. The package was easy to open but I found the crystals too big to go through the shaker top so I took that off. I will purchase this product again in a larger size and hope that package is as easy to open.
Worthless product
I sprinkled this on 2 inches of snow. The snow did not melt for 3 days, until the weather changed. When the snow melted after a couple of warm days, the product was laying there, undissolved.
Cannot open
I received the bucket of salt. The top is a design that someone with arthritis in their hands cannot open without great struggles
Impossible to open
Agree with others -- if you get the 35lb bucket, it's impossible to open, making the product worthless!
Difficult
The pull tab to open the container was extremely difficult. I actually had to cut around the entire lid to get it open. I will not buy this again. Salt otherwise worked fine.
Natural Rapport Pet Safe Ice Melt
Because of the thickness, you don't have to use as much. It melts quicker and I know that not only my pet is safe but the other animals in the neighborhood as well.
