Plastic pieces
This is not the first time I have purchased this product. Last time I found a couple pieces, but this time the sand is loaded with pieces of plastic. Not looking forward to sifting out all of the pieces before I can continue setting up this aquarium.
Absolutely awful
This is listed as black but its basically brown with some other colors mixed in. If you are looking for a black sand, keep looking. I cant believe this is marketed as black. I just pulled 40 lbs out of a tank Im starting. Yes, its that bad
not what I wanted
I thought I was getting black sand. Instead it’s more grey and white. If you want straight black sand look somewhere else. Other than that it’s ok.
Not what I was hoping for
I chose black sand because I was thinking of a black sand beach. Instead I got a gray sand from a northeast city beach. If I had realized what it was I would have stayed with the natural color.
Argonite black sand
If your looking for a solid black sand for saltwater, this is a mixture of gray and black. Although it looks great in the tank.
Not pure black as advertised
It is live sand, comes in 10 lbs bags, and does what it is intended for in helping to establish a saltwater tank. BUT IT'S NOT PURE BLACK. It is a mixture of black and brown sand. Disappointed, because I wanted pure black sand and I can't find any in my local stores.
NOT BLACK SAND
Well I went with chewy because it was by far the cheapest option on this “black” live/reef sand. My LFS has black agronite sand but the grains were large and not what I was looking for my new reef setup. This sand isn’t like it’s pictures and has several large rocks and multi colored pebbles in it. It is very nice looking but it is nowhere near black, almost greyish maybe at best. Also took 4 days to clear up in my 90 gallon ordered 100 pounds.
SALTWATER Sand
I'm sure that this is a great product but it is for saltwater aquariums which is hard to know based on the information provided online. Make sure you're buying this for a saltwater/brackish water aquarium and not a freshwater one as it could make your fish's living environment too harsh.
good with a little surprise
This sand is great! It was easy to clean and the cloudiness went away quickly my axolotl seems to like it. However I looked on the glass and saw a snail was in the bag so I guess Hellen has a little friend. Overall great product
