Can the metal inserts be removed if need be? Yes I know they sell one without. Thank you kindly.
Answer by ChewyApr 20, 2020
The metal inserts can be removed. It's recommended to take out the metal inserts and continue to use the brace after your dog has regained the mobility.

My dog had surgery. One of the bones in her leg was growing improperly. She limps on that leg terribly. Will the front leg metal spring brace give her the support. Vet said that it is arthritis as well.
Answer by ChewyMay 21, 2020
This dog carpal or wrist brace is made with care to provide strong support to dog and cat front leg from injuries in torn acl, cruciate ligament, splint and sprain, help in wounds healing, joint pain relief and loss of stability and mobility caused by arthritis, and it is highly recommended by Veterinarians.

How do I measure? Can’t watch video
Answer by ChewyDec 29, 2020
To choose the correct size, it is recommended to measure the circumference of your pet's leg, 3 inches above the carpal pad. Then take this measurement and compare with the attached photo of the sizing chart below:

Is this a good option to help prevent a puppy from walking bow legged?
Answer by ChewyMar 12, 2020
This front leg brace with metal spring inserts is a semi-rigid brace that provides extra support to dog front leg, but still flexible to not hinder dog's leg movement. It provides good help in preventing dogs from walking bow legged.

Came off immediately.

Flew off my dog's leg as soon as she started running around. One is lost out in the yard, likely never to be found. I put them on a tight as I could (to the point it felt like it might have been cutting off the circulation to her feet). However, the slick material and active dog make these unusable.

Front leg support redesign

The short strap doesn't hold. In my opinion the strap should be longer. I have tried cleaning both areas where the strap attaches without any success for the strap to stay together. The longer strap works OK. It does work to help support the joint but it requires constant attention.

Really works!

These are really helping our elderly golden retriever. She typically hates anything new, but she immediately loved these. They really support her front legs, which have joint damage due to arthritis. It is helping her walking, getting up & down, etc. We were shocked by how quickly these helped her. Thank you so much! Highly Recommend!

Not as supportive as advertised

I bought this for my dog hoping it would offer support for his wrist. The "metal" rods are aluminum and don't offer the support that he needs. The rods are bendable which to me is pointless if they are supposed to offer support to the wrist.

Leg braces

These work well to help my arthritic dog with leg pain. However they keep slipping down & have to stop during walk to reposition Its obvious they make his legs feel better but difficult for senior to keep bending over re fastening them.

She loved them for the minutes they stayed on...

I measured exactly like they suggested and ordered the size that should fit. When they arrived I was excited to don them on my suffering Pittie...and she made a big scene, tossing her legs out to the side because something foreign was on her legs, but then she seemed to smile and enjoy the feel of these springed braces. That lasted about 5 minutes until they slid down and then OFF her legs. I knew right away when I started to put them on her that they were too big but she was so excited for some relief. I haven't contacted Chewy yet but I will most likely order a smaller set. I think the manufacturer needs to adjust their measurement guide. It's possible even a smaller set will slide down, but I'm hoping not. We shall see.

Sizing issue

Says it fits s/m, but seems to be more toward m/l size. This was for a 24lb Shellie. Quality of product is good.

So so and missing the rods.

I have two pairs back and front. My front ones have NO rods as shown. The seams are closed and no areas to put rods in. So they add some support but lack tge stabilizing rods which would help a lot.

These are great!

Our 8 year old GSD severely sprained her right wrist. After 2 trips to vet and being 3-legged lame for a week, I bought these braces and put her in one. She got used to wearing it after two days and it gave her much relief and support. I do take it off at night and also make sure it is snug but not too tight. Velcro straps and easy to follow instructions made it convenient for this worried Mom! We are 10 days into wearing the brace support and the improvement is significant. I highly recommend this product or similar needs. Affordable, well-made braces! Thank you Chewy for the online Q&A too! It helped me make a decision on what type of brace I needed for our girl. :)

Awesome brace

These braces are the best we have tried for our dog. He took a day to get used to the springs on either side, but he is now running around and coping with these on his right leg. Very impressed with the quality and support
