I have mixed feelings on this brand. My senior dog will eat anything and ate this food with gusto licking the bowl several minutes after it was empty. My picky eater would take a few bites and walk away leaving half his meal in the bowl. My picky eater likes chicken but wasn’t thrilled with this brand. I fed this food for a good two weeks and it was the same routine every day. One loved it, the other would leave it. I saw nothing wrong with it, it smelled fine, and the ingredients looked fine. But Mr. Picky eater didn’t like it.

I have a 13 yr old Chiweenie. We’ve had to keep a closer watch on her diet due to a pancreatitis diagnosis a few years back. Coco’s Vet recommended keeping Fat content low relative to Protein content when selecting her food. Coco hasn’t been overly fond of her previous “weight control” kibble even when mixed with a homemade topper / supplement, sometimes choosing to skip meals. That previous kibble has a very low fat content which is why I chose it. Its fat content is lower than that of Next Level Senior Healthy Weight (— with a crude protein value equivalent to that of Next Level’s) but that being said, Next Level Senior Healthy Weight’s fat-to-protein ratio does fall within the recommended range for dogs with pancreatitis — and given that Coco has so far happily eaten it with no fuss, that is a win. It’s a bit too soon to assume long term results, but for now I’d say we’ve found a new food for Coco.

I’ve been really happy with this dog food. I love that it comes in a resealable bag—super convenient for keeping it fresh. The ingredients are impressive, starting with real deboned chicken as the first ingredient, which gives my dog the high-quality protein needed for strong, lean muscles. It also includes brown rice and sorghum, which are great for digestion, and L-carnitine to support a healthy weight. What really stands out is the full-body support it offers my senior pitbull. It’s now 2x a day much smaller. I will continue to use until my little big princess refuses to eat it !!! Richer looking smells so much better than her other good. I just wish it was do expensive.

I have 2 senior Dachshunds who are chronic foodaholics, as many doxies are. NEXT LEVEL Senior Healthy Weight is perfect for them and they love it. With healthy ingredients and well-balanced protein/fat/kCal numbers, it's ideal for their stage in life and their weight control needs. My third dog, a Spanish Galgo, is also a senior, but his weight is fine. However, I give him a small scoop of this food to enhance the flavor of his regular food since he loves it too.

I think she is part cat because she seems to eat half the bowl and then expects more just because she can see the bottom. Kibble texture is uniform, bag is easy to open and close and apparently has a wonderful taste since Meisie is licking her lips after breakfast. This is sure to be added into our rotation.

Next Level Senior healthy weight was a pleasant surprise. I have a 12 year old, fairly active, springer spaniel who has been on Purina Bright Minds for 3 years now. I am impressed with the ingredients and Marsh loves the flavor of Next Level. The protein level and ingredients is great. First time in 20+ years I will be using a product other than Purina
