Feed according to the age, size and activity of your dog. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Always provide plenty of fresh water. Gradually transition by adding a small amount of chicken and rice dinner, reducing the amount of the current diet and increasing the amount of chicken and rice dinner for 7 - 10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive dogs, we recommend a 10 - 14 day transition.

We have a little 17 pound rescue pup who’s a Jack Russell and Australian Kelpie combo, according to her DNA. We feed her dry kibble as her main food, but I like to prepare frozen pupsicle treats for her to work on in the morning while I have my coffee and devotion. They make so many clever fillable chew toys now. She has brown log, an ice cream cone and a croissant, and just one will keep her occupied for about 45 minutes. I’m always on the lookout for something good to fill and freeze in them. This Next Level canned Chicken & Rice dog food is just perfect. It has a texture like a pâté, and it’s easy to spread in the little refillable canisters. I do add a little bit of bone broth to thin it out with, then freeze. She really loves it, much more than what I’ve been filling them with previously. It has interesting ingredients that seem pretty wholesome, including plenty of vitamins and minerals. The aroma is decent for dog food. There is a tiny whiff of fish, due to the salmon oil in there; that could be one reason she loves it so much. She’s crazy about salmon but I rarely buy salmon dog food because of the smell. This is a good compromise. Really glad I ordered this.

My senior Australian Shepherd had a half can of Next Level Chicken & Rice Pate for lunch. She sniffed it a bit and checked it out and started eating slowly, but picked up speed, because she liked it, and licked the dish until I took it away. Some features stand out. For instance: The essential Selenium Yeast is a more expensive, easier to digest, naturally occurring version of the more common version: man-made Sodium Selenite, which causes cancer if eaten excessively. It’s 385 kcal/can, which means my dog won’t put on weight that her legs can’t support. In human food, Brewer’s Yeast makes one feel strong. I’m glad to feed it to my dog, but there are warnings on the internet that the dog should maybe not eat it if he/she is diabetic. Dog Food Advisor gives the dry dog food version of Next Level Chicken & Rice their highest score.

I usually make Janie’s food topper from scratch, but I decided to take a break and clear up some freezer space. I was looking for a canned option that had clean ingredients, minimal fillers, and something that came close to what I make at home. The Next Level Super Premium Chicken & Rice Dinner checked all the boxes. The texture is a firm pâté, which can be a little tough to scoop and break apart right out of the can. To make it easier, I mix in a little warm water before stirring it into her kibble. That softens it up just enough and makes it easier for her to eat. Janie is 12 years old, weighs about 20 pounds, and has a sensitive stomach, so I’m always cautious with new foods. She’s done really well with this one. No issues at all, and she seems to genuinely enjoy it. I appreciate that the formula is straightforward, though the smell does remind me of cat food. It’s been a great option for busy weeks when I don’t have time to prep her usual meals. I’ll definitely be keeping a few cans on hand going forward.

I needed a pate type product that wouldn’t sacrifice on ingredients and quality, I think I found everything I was looking for in Next Level Super Premium wet food. I went with the chicken and rice because my boy is a fussy eater. He approaches each meal as if it’s going to bite him back. Finally after great trepidation he may or may not eat it. Well, not this time, as soon as I put his plate down, he went at it, as if it was his last meal. The best thing was the next day, as soon as he saw the can he became animated and was anxious to chow down. I jumped over the moon knowing I would t be spending another moment hamming and hawing, begging him to eat.

The chicken and rice pate was a big hit! My dog is not picky but she really seemed to enjoy this. It’s a pretty smooth food but you can see peas in it. It’s smelly
