When I saw this bird feeder I was really excited and ordered it right away. It was just what I was looking for. It arrived swiftly and very well package however
When I saw this bird feeder I was really excited and ordered it right away. It was just what I was looking for. It arrived swiftly and very well package however when I pull it out of the box I noticed that the lid's paint was factory smudged and scratched. Okay , not a huge deal ...BUT three days after I got it the hanger came apart and I wrenched my back trying to catch it before it hit the ground. Really disappointed in this product. It is nice and heavy but that handle flaw is an accident waiting to happen.
Poor construction/design for hanging
The wire for hanging pulled through the top in just one day! Very disappointing as the size and everything else were great!

Good feeder
This is an excellent "bird" feeder, However our squirrels and the possum/raccoons chewed off the wire hanger and it cannot be replaced.

My fault. I didn’t realize it is huge
I didn’t read the description carefully. Feeder is huge. But clearly described as extra large.

Can't support even half the weight it claims
I put it up with a small amount of seed. The wire snapped. Chewy sent me a new one. Same thing. It turns out the whole thing is held with a smaller than average

It turns out the whole thing is held with a smaller than average wire rope with a really weak clamp holding it together inside of an itty bitty screw top. I spent money to buy wire and a clamp to fix it, but nothing remotely strong fits in there. Don't get this. It's a waste of money.
Not Worth the Aggravation
This is a beautiful feeder. Large and well designed. The problem, like everyone else is saying, is that the wire cannot hold the weight. When the first one went,
This is a beautiful feeder. Large and well designed. The problem, like everyone else is saying, is that the wire cannot hold the weight. When the first one went, Chewy was kind enough to offer me a replacement. Then the second one went as well. What happens now is that I use a hanger to hold it up, and do tighten it well, but the aggressive squirrels have knocked it down more times than I want to think about. The birds lose out, because it is hard to get out there in the middle of the winter to set this up again. So at this point, I'm on my search once again for another feeder. Don't buy this feeder. There are enough complaints by now that the manufacturer should have rectified this problem long ago.
Great feeder but doesn’t last long
I love this feeder as it’s easy to clean and easy for the birds to access. But I’ve had to replace it twice in the two years I’ve bought it. I think it’s because

I think it’s because it holds so much seed it just gets too heavy and the wire snaps. Mine just broke again and I’m debating buying another and just filling it half way from now on

I have been using this feeder on and off since I purchased it in 2022. Basically only use it when there is snow on the ground or when we are on vacation to ensure the birds have enough to eat during our absence. When it isn't outside, it is cleaned, dried, and kept in a climate control storage area. It is a very heavy feeder, and even more so when filled with seed so it must have a very sturdy branch to hang from or a solid support (does not work on the typical metal "bird feeder poles". Today I saw the feeder on the ground and sadly the wire hanger had detached from the feeder entirely. I hope that perhaps I can rig it up somehow because I really love this feeder, or maybe I can get the company to send me another nut/hanger. So disappointing.

The size is really large; actually I was surprised when opening the package and seeing how big it was. But two holdings help with various bird food to accommodate my birdie friends, like finch, cardinal, wood packer etc. Selections of tiny-small bird food can restrict what kind of bird visitors. Big birds can be avoided, the same is applied to squirrels. One possible disadvantage is the feeder could be heavy so a sturdy branch is required.
