Cute, easy to refill, vandalized by squirrels now needs replacement
Bought this house in May. Chimney lifts off - easy to pour in new seed. Windows allow you to see the see inventory. Very lightweight. Song birds loved the easy access seed shelf. Initially, I used No Squirrels Just Birds Feed. It has chili pepper in and the seeds are much smaller. We had no problem with squirrels. In August, I changed the bird feed to another brand that included peanuts, and the feverish squirrel vandalism commenced. They would hang on the house and swing out the food. They managed to take off the chimney cover off. Today, I discovered that they broke in thru the back window. So, I'm buying the cottage again but I will not put peanuts in the house and I will only use the No Squirrels, Just Birds seed. Hopefully, the squirrels will leave the new house feeder alone.
Very cute but doesn’t last long
I was so thrilled with this birdhouse. The fact that it’s easy to clean, it looks cute and the birds seem to like it was a plus. However, after just 4 months, I went to fill the bird feeder, and I noticed that there was a hole in the bottom. I couldn’t figure out what happened. It turned out one of the plastic pegs that secures it in place had broken off. I was losing birdseed from the hole in the bottom without realizing it. I do not recommend this bird feeder even for the sale price.
The Best!
I bought this style bird feeder from North States more than seven years ago. It is left out all year long and is still like new! So recently I purchased more because they are so well built and very long lasting. Even the cable to hang it with is super strong and hasn't broken after all these years. (These feeders might last forever!) With a wooden bird feeder not only does the wood rot over time but the rain or melting snow soaks into the wood and makes the feeder too heavy which then bends the shepherd hook, This feeder doesn’t have these problems because it is made from durable plastic. The birds love it too.

When I received this, I was super excited. It was bigger than I expected. The birds love it and I just ordered a different one to go on my shepherds hook with it.

Very Cute but Broken when arrived
Chewy customer service was great! They immediately replaced the first bird feeder when it arrived broken. I'm not sure how it broke inside the box but all four corner tabs that hold the bottom on were broken and laying in the bottom of the box. The box looked undamaged. The replacement came in just a few days. However, it also was broken in the box. This time a good sized hole was broken in the bottom tray that holds the seeds. Again, the box looked in good shape so we were very surprised to see the broken tray. We decided not to call customer service the second time. We figure they must be packaged bad at the factory and not Chewy's fault.
Amazing Birdhouse
Birdhouse is amazing and visually nice. You do need the funnel type tool to put food into it. I wish Chewy sold the pole that is mentioned in the items description. I recommend buying.
