Purchased a bag of 1mm & 2mm NorthFin sinking pellet fish food online. Both bags had expiration dates on the back of the bags. Both expiration dates were in 2025. On the bag of 2mm sinking fish pellets the expiration date was stamped on the bag. But on the bag of 1mm fish pellets the expiration date was printed on a sticker and placed in the same spot that the other bags expiration date was stamped. The saltwater fish are my son's and he's very particular about food or anything else that has to do with them. Keeping a saltwater tank is very expensive. So when I showed him the 2 bags of food that I had purchased he immediately noticed the sticker on the 1mm with the expiration date. He peeled up the sticker and there was the original expiration date. NorthFin had covered up an expired date on a bag of marine pellets and put them back on the shelve for sale. I couldn't believe it. The original expiration date was 2021! So I wonder how that worked since I ordered through Chewy, which by the way I love Chewy. Did NorthFin or Chewy see the order for 1mm sinking pellet food and decide to slap a new date on an expired bag and send it to me? My 2nd thought was why would you still have fish pellets that were 2 years past there expiration date still lying around? My son threw out the NorthFin Marine 1mm & 2mm Sinking Pellets Fish Food and we will be going back to purchasing the brand that we've always purchased prior to this. It might be a bit more expensive but we've never been sent fish pellets that were outdated and covered up with a sticker to make them appear that they were fresh. Back to Omega One & shame on you NorthFin.
1 mm small sinking pellets that is great for an occasional feeding in my reef tank
