This is a review for “NOW” dog food. I have been feeding this product to my 20# Dachshund for only 3 days, but so far he seems to like it. He doesn’t attack his bowl as enthusiastically as his previous food, but after a couple of sniffs, he happily eats it. I especially love the size of the kibble, as I need to buy “small breed” food for his tiny mouth! I have never seen a food with so many ingredients, especially fruits and vegetables I eat myself! He has had reactions to other foods in the past with behaviors such as paw licking, muzzle scratching, even ear infections. So far so good with this food. I have noticed his excrements are formed but very soft, and larger amounts than before. There is always an adjustment period when changing diets, so I would like another opportunity to review again after he has eaten half the bag or more. The recommended feeding amounts seem adequate at this point.

I appreciated the size of the kibble which I would call medium. It had a smooth texture on the outside and no handful of crumbles at the bottom of the bag. I have three senior dogs ranging from 8 to 98 pounds. They were both able to enjoy This kibble. We tried the warm water to create a gravy, which was nice for extra hydration to the pups, but not necessarily sure I could call it “gravy“. Always enjoy real meat as the first ingredient and I enjoyed the supplement they added specialty for seniors.

Well, Miss Lily begrudgingly ate 1/2 cup mixed with her regular kibble while glaring at me. Rereading the "gravy option", the next day I mixed 1/2 cup with hot water and let sit for about 10 minutes before mixing in with her regular food.............THAT was the winning combination! Whether she could smell the gravy or preferred the texture.....she gobbled it down ( I am leaning toward the 'smelling' gravy). As a senior who is not always able to walk Miss Lily daily, I think this is a really good option for weight control. Is this her absolute favorite....no, but she readily eats it. Her all time favorite is the raw rabbit patties.

At first the puppies liked the dog food the first couple of times it was in their bowl. It didn't have a smell to it but they seemed to enjoy it. But when I refilled their bowl they ignored it and left the bowl. I have two bowls filled with it in two different areas and although it is fresh and crunchy they do not seeem interested in eating it. They sniff it and walk away. It has alot of products in it which seems good for the dogs but I wouldn't buy it for them. It needs improvement on smell, taste and texture.

Happy senior dogs

I have a picky 23 year old schnauzer and a 17 year old (40 lbs) rescue. They eat the now fresh really well. As old as they are, they are actually quite active

I have a picky 23 year old schnauzer and a 17 year old (40 lbs) rescue. They eat the now fresh really well. As old as they are, they are actually quite active and I want them as healthy as I can make them. My veterinarian says I must be doing something well as all my dogs live to an active, long life. I’m really proud of how well they are doing and I constantly read ingredients and watch what they enjoy. With the many (10) dogs I have, they are all my babies and this is a really delicious choice for them. I highly recommend.

If I mix this food with the chicken flavor they’re use to, they gobble it up! But being they’re so picky they won’t eat it on its own. So now I’m buying 2 dog foods instead of one!
