Is it just finicky cats or different product from Chewy?!?

By DRogers on Apr 13, 2021

My kittens loved the minced Nulo from the beginning. I was a little afraid once Petsmart realized theirs were still on special (they were 72 cents a small can when we first adopted our kittens and I had no idea how cheap that was nor did I realize that was a "special.") I was excited to find them on Chewy as it was a tad bit cheaper to order in bulk but I feel like anytime I get them from Chewy my cats turn those nose up at the food. I tried the American Journey brand of minced and those were not a hit. I do not know if it is just when I buy them from Chewy or if I need to find another cat food for my finicky cats...

    My cat loves this!

By Loki on Apr 15, 2021

My cat definitely taste the difference between the Nulo freestyle brand and the friskies we initially bought from costco. My cat scarfs this down and refuses to eat friskies

My kitty loves his new food

By Loonie on Sep 19, 2020

My 15 year old kitty loves this food. He always eats the gravy first and then chews on the little chunks. He is a happy boy and I think he is feeling better now that he is on grain free. Keep up the good work Chewy --- my kitty and I appreciate your efforts!

    Nice Change

By TheGirls on May 18, 2020

Our 2 Maine Coon cats can get picky about what they eat. So I tried Nulo and they dove right in. It has gravy which they licked up so I added a little bit of warm water to make more and they cleaned the bowl.

    She likes it

By Shar on May 1, 2020

I have a fussy cat but also when we rescued her she also had most of her teeth removed. It’s hard to find something she will eat that’s easy for her to chew.

    Both cats loved!

    By JNB23 on Dec 31, 2019

I have two cats who are picky eaters, so its difficult to please both of them. They like a food one day, and the next they decide they no longer like it. So we have been experimenting with different brands to find one they both like. Cats?! I wanted to try a different food that contained a good amount of minerals, as well as ingredients to aid in digestion (pumpkin), and in flavors they will eat. I fed them beef and mackerel for the first time. They do not like tuna, so trying different varieties of fish is questionable. Well...they loved it, they devoured it! I look forward to seeing how they like the other two flavors.

    Good product, not appreciated

    By Jane on Dec 18, 2019 top500Contributor

I wish my cats would love this food, but they don't. It looks to me like it is perfect, with a proper amount of moisture and small bits. However, very few of the cats thought it was a good idea.

    Senior Kitizen Approval

By Elizabeth on Aug 14, 2019

I have two 18 year old cats who have been recommended special Rx diets... and are still adjusting to the lack of variety, which they were both accustomed to all of their lives. Sometimes they just need a break from the monotony...And the hunger strikes begin. At their age and health, I have to acquiesce sensibly: "It's better to get them to eat something than nothing!" So I'm following Dr.s orders... This has the beef flavor one cat adores (read: she'll steal steak off your plate the second you look away. She's very selectively spry at her age, like an ancient kung fu master), and the mackeral the other fellow truly enjoys. And it's a good quality from what I have been able to research. She's very selectively spry at her age, like an ancient kung fu master), and the mackeral the other fellow truly enjoys. And it's a good quality from what I have been able to research. I'm giving 4 stars for texture: the amount of moisture (we'll call it gravy or gel) is good, but the overall texture is somewhere more on the pate' side than a mince, but it doesn’t get too gummy that they get tired or frustrated trying to eat it and give up. I can see little bits and flecks, and gravity will break the shape of the can on its own when plopped in a dish without mashing around with a fork. So consider it a super-refined mince. While they have no problem using their teeth to bite (me) toys, and fresh foods, they both have this inexplicable adversion to biting "into" their soft canned food, so it must be lickable. And yes, their teeth are fine. It's something I can reliably get them to eat that we are all satisfied with. Thanks Nulo! … more
