Feeding Instructions

Feed according to the age, size and activity of your cat. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Your cat should always have access to clean fresh water.

Adult: feed 2-3 cans per 6-8 lbs. of body weight per day.

Kitten: feed up to twice the adult amount to kittens.

Gestation and lactation: feed up to 3 times the normal adult amount.

Transition Instructions

When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!

    They can't stay consistent

By Cheryl on Apr 26, 2021

My two picky eaters used to run to their food dishes every morning when I fed them. Not now. About every other case I get is missing the gravy. It has a different smell and a dry solid texture and they will not eat it. The cases I get that have the gravy they love. If nulo would stay consistent, I would give this 10 Stars. The only reason I switched was because Iams has been sold out for 7 months. But at least they're consistent with their product. It's very disappointing and frustrating at the same time. I hate having to call chewy to send me a new case a food because I got a dry case. Hopefully nulo will get this figured out before I have to go searching for another brand that is healthy My two picky eaters used to run to their food dishes every morning when I fed them. Not now. By far my cats favorite food

By Punky on May 30, 2021

Nulo (particularly this Nulo) has quality ingredients and it is hands down my cats favorite cat food. They scarf it. It has been there consistently favorite food. It is a little more pricey than other foods, so we do feed other brands too. But we always have this as our primary food. Would love if they had this food in larger can sizes!

    Great wet food!

By Daisy on Apr 21, 2021

My cat grew up on fancy feast and blue buffalo as a kitten. Enter into her adulthood after 1-year, we attempted to switch her to an adult cat brand and away from kitten food and selected Nature's Instinct, which had amazing reviews for being really natural. I'm not sure what happened, but she used to love it and then suddenly one day just stopped eating her food. We checked for all signs of illness, but she was perfectly healthy and just lost interest in pate-type wet food. We eventually found Nulo, as a top choice on any review sites, and began feeding her shredded wet can food. Inconsistent "gravy"

By lbrown on Apr 23, 2021

I have a VERY picky cat.. finally found this at a pet store and he liked it so I ordered a case from Chewy. The name of the food is chicken and duck IN GRAVY however the amount of "gravy" in each can varies widely. Some cans are almost dry (and my cat won't eat it) and others are mostly gravy. I would love it if they could perfect this one flaw. I will order again in case this was a fluke.

    According to the cat boss

By Frances on Apr 12, 2021

Not sure if it's the duck....but this selection the house boss made without my input, doesn't cut it. She said it has excellent ratings and thought I'd love it. Nope. She's wishing she had only bought 1 or 2 cans. She tells me it wasn't a choice. Not my problem! She says she'll suggest customers would love it if they could order a 6 pack of canned food when trying out a new brand. Especially when the cat is picky. Me... ?? picky? She has the nerve!

    Yucky Food

By OCICATS on May 20, 2021

Neither cat would touch it. Very unfortunate. I had to donate the entire case to a shelter. Picky Ocicat. They love their Nutrisca and nothing else.

    Beyond Picky Boys

By SavannahBananna on Nov 6, 2020

This is a constant in my cat food rotation for my 2 F2 Savannahs. I am not sure what is more pathetic, the level of pickiness from them or the way I cater to it. They don’t like fish except for the green muscle in Ziwi Peak, they don’t like turkey in any form, even raw. The struggle is real. They will eat this 9 times out of 10 even when they have turned their collective noses up to a brand they loved last week. Perhaps they are aware of subtle changes in ingredients or even suppliers of meat. Or maybe they are spoiled brats, who knows. While the do like this, they prefer actual shredded chicken and this looks more like pate formed into little chicken pieces. The chicken nuggets of cat food, except made with really healthy ingredients! Try this for the tricky to feed, it is a great price point for a premium food, which is wonderful because my boys eat a heck of a lot of food. It is made in the US, and the ingredients are the ones we look for in feeding our kitties, plus it has the very rare Kovu and Wasabi seal of approval. … more

    Cant go wrong with NULO

By CatMom on Oct 28, 2020

My kitties love Nulo-- any flavor is fine. My 21 year old tortie can be pretty picky about her dinner. But opening Nulo is always a winning dinner to her.

    Changed formula?

By Thatch on Jul 11, 2020

Not sure what it is - either Nulo changed something or my cat suddenly developed dislike for this particular flavor - but my cat would smell it then quickly walk away, as if "Yuck! Get that away from me!". It looks the same and smells the same (to me) but he seems grossed out about it somehow. I don't think he's tired of the flavor or anything like that given that it's not like this is the only food I feed him.
