My Bugsy is super senior status at 19 and a half years. He has zero teeth, and tends to throw up the dry food, so we absolutely have to have the wet food for him. We get the duck and tuna 12.5 oz and the salmon and mackerel 12.5 oz. We also get trout and salmon which unfortunately comes only in 5.5 oz portions. I wish the latter came in the larger portion because it is cheaper per ounce to feed my herd of kitties. These are the flavors they like, and I always taught Bugsy and Monte that brothers share back when I used to make them food, but do not have time for that anymore. The wet food is good for Monte because it helps since he hates his urinary food, and it’s better to get more fluids keeping his system clear. Now we have the kittens, so they are learning to share too. Penny got the Manx gene from their mom and has no tail which makes it harder for her to poop apparently, so wet food helps with that. Her littermate, Lynyrd didn’t get the Manx gene, so he is just a big two year floppy kitty with zero health concerns, and it is not fair for him to be left out. The point is that I wish I could get all 3 varieties in the larger cans because we go through it, so that would save us a little bit each round. It would also help me with rotations between the three flavors. That’s my only complaint. All the cats like the wet food and I did a lot of research before settling with this one. They get sick of the food after awhile so I’m sure eventually we will go to something else anyways.
It's hard to find a cat food that all 5 cats approve but I found it with Nulo. It's just as nutritious as the more expensive brands & is a great bang for the buck!!
It is very dense, meaning you aren't purchasing a lot of water. I add water to my servings (either way, they just don't seem to like Nulo products)
My cat is on a dry and wet combo diet. He free feeds on 1/2 cup of dry kibble all day and gets this pate for dinner. I only feed him 1/3 of the can (sometimes less) for dinner. He eats this stuff up! If I feel like he needs more water intake, I'll mash the pate up in his dish, and add a pool of water around it or mix it in. He still loves it! My cat isn't a very picky eater overall and I'm thankful for that!
They love the flavor
I've noticed Nulo stopped providing a lot of 5oz cans, started producing new 2.5oz cans and charging almost twice as much. I don’t see this being sustainable. Feel like they're taking advantage of the customers. I'm now forced to look at other brands. I have multiple animals and cost is getting outrageous for a food that was already expensive. Will the 5oz cans be in stock again?? This food is great but giving lower rating because of how the company seems to have shifted.
My cats love the salmon and turkey minced food from this brand, but they will not even lick this kind. I personally think it smells nice enough as far as cat food goes, but my cats disagree. Not the pate style for them. I tried two cans of the two different kinds I bought because their normal minced flavor was out of stock, but I had to throw it out untouched. The rest of this big pack will have to go to the shelter...
I was feeding my cats Hill’s Science until the pandemic hit. For whatever reason, there is still no stock in the basic flavors of that brand. I tried Nulo and my cats are absolutely nuts about it. They are now Nulo cats!!
Pick something else, if you can find anything in stock here.
Our two cats, like other cats of ours before, love Trout & Salmon Paté.
