This chart should be used for guidance. Initial administration period is 2 - 4 weeks at 1 - 2 scoops per day depending on weight, or as recommended by your veterinarian. For horses over 1200 lbs, administration may be increased. Cosequin ASU PLUS can be administered either at 1 feeding, or divided between feedings. Once response is noted, the number of scoops can gradually be reduced to a level that best maintains your horse. Prior to and during an event or strenuous exercise, administration may be increased back to the initial level for extra support.
I can't say I've seen any changes in my horse, but she is entering her teens and wanted to get her on a good joint product. My vet highly recommends Cosequin products. She said Cosequin is one of the most researched joint products and you get what you pay for.
I started using Cosequin for my dog several years ago and now have discovered this equine formula. Both products are great! I highly recommend this product.
Well I wasted a lot of $$$ on this. My horse won’t eat this- won’t even eat his cubes I put this in. Snorts & walks away.
During the loading phase my mare seemed to be easier to reach her relaxation stage in our ride. My vet mentioned it as one of two products he recommends. There was also no question of her consuming it. She likes the taste.
I have been using this now for three months on a 16 year old hunter/jumper and have seen an improvement in his ability to increase his stride. If you are looking for a supplement for joint health, I would recommend this product!
Recommended by my vet years ago, he said when Cosequin offers a product with avacodo (the A in ASU) make sure to give it to your older horses (and dogs). My horses have been on this for years and they show no signs of aging. They used to move slowly and in obvious signs of aging. Now at 27 my horse looks and feels young.
Switched my 20yr old QH mare from recovery eq extra strength.. what a difference in a month!!! She used to be so stiff behind and now she has such drive!
Our almost 20 year-old QH mare is training Third Level dressage. This supplement helps maintain her joints in top performance condition with no injections.
My mare is 18 and my vet said this is the only thing to have her on to help with some possible joint issues.
My 24 1/2 year old gelding has been on Cosequin since last fall, when he started to show signs of arthritis and is doing very well on it. This is our third jar and I will continue to feed it. It is expensive but it works and his health and comfort are my primary concerns. Yes, I would recommend it!
