Nutramax Filaquin Anal Gland & Digestive Health Peanut Butter Flavored Soft Chew Supplement for Dogs, 90 count

I recently adopted an adult Cavalier King Charles dog who had major "scooting" issues as his glands were not emptying properly. After a few times expressing at the vet, as well as using a competitor's supplement without much success, we tried Filaquin, which I had not been aware of before. This was exactly what we needed. It worked perfectly! Our other dog has used a liver supplement for years, also made by Nutramax, the manufacturer of Filaquin. That gave me confidence to try it. The price is very good for the quantity received, and the product contains healthy ingredients such as psyllium husk, apple fiber, and pre and postbiotics. The flavoring is roasted peanut, which was not his favorite initially, but he is used to it now, and happily eats it. This soft chew is also scored, so is easy to break in half for feeding, or for measuring. It comes in a 90 chew easy close bag, which is helpful. I very happily recommend this product to others.

I have been trying this out as an alternative to using psyllium husk mixed in to their dog food. The treats are much easier to deal with than the powder. I give each of them the dose before dinner. They've been receptive to eating the treat. I am waiting to see if it's helpful like the psyllium husk powder. I do appreciate the simplicity of the product. I also really like the velcro enclosure on the package. It makes sealing the bag very easy.

Our frenchie loves treats but only specific ones. He was hesitant to try these at first but he took them after a couple of tries. He had emergency back surgery late 2022 and has issues expressing his glands. He takes his meds well but he recently visited the vet for nail trimming and gland treatments. This seems to keep his glands from building up without the issue of releasing any unexpected glandular material leaking.
