Favorite bone
My dogs love nylabones but this one is their absolute favorite. We have gone through 3 of these rings in about as many years. It is great to have them chewing on something good. And it is funny to watch them toss it in the air and walk around like it is a door knocker.
Best Thing Ever
to distract our leaping, bounding, glad-to-see-us-return 2 year old GSD mix when we come home from somewhere. We keep it right next to the door so we can put it - instead of our wrists and hands - into her happy mouth. She runs around with it inside, and often outside, where we find it in odd places on the lawn. We always have two rings on hand. :) We replace one when it gets spikey from being chewed, but they are durable!
Not good for smaller dogs (35lbs)
My two Blue Heeler pups (1 years old/35lbs) love chewing on these; however, little plastic particles get stuck in their throat. They hacked and coughed all night and I though I was going to have to go to the emergency vet. Appx 12 hours later, they were able to cough them out.
We're done with Nylabone
My dog isn't very picky, but he was pretty uninterested in this ring within 10 minutes of trying it. After a week I introduced him to another toy, and he has a clear favorite! The last time he got a Nylabone edible chew, he devoured it in 5 minutes and threw up a few times, so I guess this is progress?
Hard ring almost glass like
Took this toy out of package and noticed it was very hard, not a chew ring as described. Attempted to throw for our dog who loves to fetch and it was like throwing a glass object across the room. Our dog chased it and looked at it and walked away. Attempted several more times to play tug of war with him and still not interested in the “toy”. Very disappointed
my dog loves nylabones but...
he could care less for this one. He hasnt even touched it. I'm guessing it has to do with the original flavor.
Damages dogs' teeth
This ring is innovative and my dog thinks it's fun to carry it around as well as chase it and bring it back when I roll it across the floor, but whenever he tries to start chewing on it, I have to put it away and he can't have it unsupervised. The reason for this is because recently he broke off part of a back tooth and also put a huge chip in the side of same tooth while chewing on a different Nylabone DuraChew and had to go to the vet. The vet strongly advised against Nylabones or any other bone that is harder than teeth. Hard Nylabones hurt and damage dogs' teeth and cause permanent damage to many dogs. I have had to round up and throw away all of his old Nylabones and he won't be able to chew on this type of bone ever again if I want to protect his teeth and help him keep them for life! My last dog had a mouthful of damaged teeth by old age, caused by chewing on Nylabones for years, and in his last couple of years we had to stop letting him have Nylabones, too. This time I'm going to learn my lesson earlier and stop it in young age before this dog has a chance to ruin all his teeth, too.
Christmas gift
Haven't given this to our puppy yet. He loves other Nylabone products and chews so I expect he will love this one too. He also likes round chew toys he can get a paw through to help hold it. He is 11 weeks old dachshund and a strong chewer. He is number 5 and all have loved Nylabone products.
Favorite Chew Toy
Both our pups love to sit and chew on these. When they become too rough they are replaced with a new one.
Not interested
I was excited to get this toy for my dog but unfortunately she has absolutely no interest in it at all. She loves to chew everything and all bones, etc. but not this one for some reason I can't figure out.
