How bad is this stuff to step on? I currently use paper that isn't a pellet, I'm worried this will be more like stepping on a lego.
Answer by ChewyJun 25, 2019
These specially formulated pellets are firm on the outside and soft on the inside.

Is this litter good for long haired cats? I have 1 male Maine coon & 1 female Angora, who has issues with pop getting stuck on her fur when she deficates.

Best Litter ever

I have lived with my cat for 16 years and never found a litter we both like. okocat satisfies both of us! I chose the paper pellets and the litter is absolutely dust free. It is truly odorless as well. Kitty is quite happy with it an no longer pees off the edge of the box the way she did with some other litters.

new formula?

I liked this brand of litter significantly more before they changed the formula. Now, I have to clean every pellet of litter after every time my cat goes to the bathroom. Otherwise the whole litter box smells extremely strong of ammonia chemicals. I don’t know what that chemical smell is, or why it’s happening with the new formula, but it worries me that it could affect my cats health breathing in whatever that is. Okocat! Please change the formula back!!

Absorbant & dust free - great!

I usually use the tidy cats breeze litter box with pellets, but when fostering neonates/kittens, I prefer using this with the breeze litter box - it is a game changer! Granted these pellets are small and can get caught in the slots, which is annoying, it is overall safe and gentle on teeny baby kitten paws. My older fosters use it too, just in a normal litter box that I line with puppy pads at the bottom (the pad is easy to catch the overflow pee/liquid and exchangeable). Anyway I refuse to ever scoop pee again and this makes it easy. The product is soft, easy to use, and if you have a cat that will actually bury, the odor control is great!

extremely messy

This has been the most messy liter I’ve ever used. Honestly almost as bad as sand. My cat goes in and bring the whole litter box out with him. I have to keep a little broom near by at all times.

No Dust is the reason

The best part of this litter is No Dust. The worst part is the smell of the litter itself right out of the box. I do not know what that smell is and I do not like it. The litter it must be cleaned out within so many hours of the cat urinating in it. It absorbs mostly but the bottom of the pan where the cat urinated will be wet. I scoop it out with a disposable glove on my hand and throw it out. I clean the box where the urine was with half vinegar/water mixture and 2 paper towels. The place where the cat urinated can be left for the day but you run the risk of the cat getting his paws wet if they dig in it. One box seems to last about one to two weeks. It is expensive I try to make the thinnest layer on the bottom just covering the box. I will try toilet training since all litters are annoying and dusty and stinky. Hoping it works for two boy 9 year old cats! Or I will make a fenced area outside where they can go. So done with litter!

Incredibly messy litter

The paper pellets in this brand of litter are so light that they get kicked out of the box incredibly easily and scatter far and wide. This results in a lot more work, as I am constantly cleaning up these pellets. Other paper-based litters have more heft and do not have this problem. I would not recommend this litter.

Best litter

This is the best litter I have used in a long time. Safe for my asthma cat and no silicon or clay dust everywhere. No dust, little tracking, easy to scoop and controls the smell for the most part. I do have 1 cat that never covers, but overall the smell control is good.
