Is there a better kitty scoop to us the pellets are to large to filter through my kitty scoops
Answer by HollyJul 06, 2022
The scooper called the Litter Lifter works really great!

Do y’all sell a special scoop for your litter?
Answer by ChewySep 15, 2018
This product does not require a specific type of litter scoop.

Is this dust free? How do these pellets track? They look huge?
Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2018
This litter is 99.9% dust free with little to no tracking.

What pound box will fill up a larger covered litter box? How regularly do you need to add more litter? Trying to determine how many boxes/pounds of litter will be needed per month for 2 cats in one litter box. Thanks.
Answer by ChewyAug 01, 2019
It is recommended to pour ökocat litter into a clean litter box to the depth of 2-3 inches. Scooping waste daily and refilling as needed to maintain the desired depth, the base litter will last 4-6 weeks.

not ideal for multi cat household

I have been using this for a minute, I liked it at first but now, not so much. I have 5 cats who tend to stick to one litter box for the most part (they have multiple) and so therefore I do scoop their box every day, but what I don’t get is why when I pay $30+ for not even 30 pounds, this stuff still stinks after scooping. Feels like a ripoff, and it does track a ton and even gets everywhere in a top entrance litter box. I’d skip on this.

Happy with this switch

I have 3 cats and 5 litter boxes. I was using tidy cats, but first switched (1 box at a time) to the pink okocat because it's so similar to clay. After I was sure all was still well, I started switching to this pellet one because of the dust and tracking (again, 1 box at a time). My scoopers do not work with this, so I've just been wearing a long cleaning glove (that is solely used for this one purpose) and using my hands. I realize this method is not for everyone, but it's been working great for me.

Ideal for long haired cats & small apartments

This is the only clumping pellet litter on the market that I can find. Non-clumping litter just doesn’t appeal to me because it seems unhygienic. I’ve been buying this litter for almost two years. You need a big, metal scooper with big slits in it for sifting. I have 2 long haired cats with big paws, and they track tons of litter everywhere. I couldn’t do the clay litter anymore in my small 1 bedroom apartment because it tracked everywhere and drove me crazy despite vacuuming all day and night. This cat litter still tracks, BUT SIGNIFICANTLY LESS than clay litter. AND it’s a lot easier to clean up because the pellets are each 1 inch long. So they’re super easy to pick up with a broom or vacuum, or even by hand. This litter has made my life so much easier simply because it helps reduce tracking significantly. There’s no dust when you pour it from the box and it just smells like wood. It covers up the smell of cat urine great as long as you clean the litter box at least once or twice daily. It will NOT cover up the smell of a litter box that hasn’t been cleaned out for several days. Does it cover up the smell of poop? Well it kinda depends on how noxious your cat’s poops are. It covers up the poop smell from one of my cats, but the other one is semi-feral and has lived outside for most of his life. Nothing covers the smell of his poop and I have to air out the entire apartment every time he goes no matter the kind of litter. I don’t blame the litter for it. Price wise, get the big 24lb box and it’s the easiest way to save. I don’t feel guilty using this cat litter because it’s just wood and it comes in a recyclable cardboard box that you can pour from. It’s also not as heavy as clay litters. My cats seem just fine using it. I haven’t had any issues with them rejecting it ever. Recommend it for people in small apartments and long haired cats.

Not for us

After seeing all the great reviews here, we wanted to switch to this after trying out PrettyLitter. We've tried the siftable wood pellets, the paper litter, among several other of the environmentally friendly options, this one might be the worst one we've used. At the moment, we keep our litterbox by one of our entryways, and boy the smell was not masked *at all* and the tracking was nuts! I will say the nice thing about the way that this litter is shaped is that it was easy to sweep up. When cleaning the litterbox, the dust level was pretty low, but was awful for using with a litter genie. I think if our litterbox was in the bathroom like it used to be, it would be better, but the clumps are both pretty loose and large so it filled up the litter genie within a couple days. A lot of these issues would be absolutely worth it if my cats liked it. I did a test with a box of this litter next to the Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented litter and they wouldn't touch the okocat, despite it being the first time using the Tidy Cats litter. I'm honestly really disappointed because I was looking forward to finally having a more sustainable option for my guys, but this one just isn't for our family.

not as good as original, just go for the blue box

I got the blue box before and it worked. This one will not keep urine scent away. It doesn’t clump as well. I thought it might be nicer and similar since it’s the same brand. I believe it’s slightly cheaper. Just go with the blue box. My cat won’t bury his poop with this one but he does with the original.

Great odor control, great "clumping"

Ever since I moved and it became difficult to get the original pellet litter I used, I've been looking for an alternative. Even tried going back to clay and was reminded why I hate it so much, even my cats aren't fans. However, we both love this. It smells nice on its own and has great odor control. At least when combined with a littlerbox with a hood +/- the door. I have one of each. Each litter box also has it own tracking pad. I haven't noticed any issues with tracking. Nor have I had a problem with dust. The way this litter clumps is that it becomes a clump of paste when wet. Which I've found very easy to clean and super low odor. This is the litter that I will be using for years to come. I'll certainly be recommending to others in the future.

okocat litter

We decided to switch to an all natural litter after our cat got asthma and we chose this. We like it and will continue to buy it. We did have to buy a new cat litter scoop with bigger holes. All worth it for a healthier cat. The delivery was fast and easy and the cats acclimated to it right away.

Don't buy it

My cat developed asthma using this litter. I changed back to my regular litter and she improved a lot. It has a heavy thick dust at the bottom, so you are still getting inches of thick wood dust cats should not be inhaling.

I like it a lot

I was skeptical about this litter but thought I would give it a try. I have used regular Okocat clumping litter for years, and my only complaint is that it eventually turns into a fine powder (dusty) after so many scoopings, and it tracks everywhere. These mini pellets are great! They clump easily and do not disintegrate over time. This equals absolutely no tracking! I have one cat that is super fussy about her litter and she did not hesitate to jump in the box and go.

Great litter!

After 10 years of using a different litter I try this one since it is healthier and cleaner. I used to have a lot of dust from the other litter and didn't look nice. This one looks clean all the time and even though it is unscented, it has a wood like smell and my cat loved it.
