Works great and a safer cleaning option for older dogs.

I think this product is getting a bad rap. After reading the reviews it seems some dogs are swallowing the cardboard. This product may not work for every dog but It definitely works if used/monitored correctly. If you have a dog that mindlessly chews and swallows things, this is not for you. Our pup Brindy is 13 years old. When we rescued her 5 years ago we had her teeth professionally cleaned. Unfortunately that required a light sedation. At her age, especially being a Great Dane mix (short life expectancy) we can't risk another sedation unless absolutely necessary. I bought these to help give her a safe, light cleaning. She eats hard kibble so her teeth were only lightly patched with tarter. I gave her one ring a week and after the third ring her teeth were definitely cleaner and whiter! Timing her, she chews between 15 and 20 minutes. According to Omega Paw, this is the correct time of usage. These cleaning rings are a great product if your dog enjoys chewing without ingesting.
Moldy
My pups LOVE these... But, our last pack arrived with mold all over all three rings. Such a disappointment!

Mastiff loves these
Repeat customer. These are just about the only thing my mastiff will chew on.

Great Idea for Chewers!
I can't believe how much my dog loves these. She's a big time chewer and the minty flavor really helps her breath and satisfies her urge to chew and tear something

These work extremely well for our sheltie, with our assistance.

They are wonderful as tools, not toys. Consider this like a toothbrush. For this to work well, you need to be involved in the cleaning. We hold and control the ring as our dog chews and shreds. This allows us to influence which teeth are getting cleaned. When done right these things make a visual difference with just one session. They are amazing, if you are willing to work with your dog. For us this is also far easier and more effective than the various types of toothbrushes. If we just handed this to our dog (she is absolutely obsessed with these!), she would eat the rubbery toothpaste layer and then shred the pressed paper in minutes, with minimal benefit. We can no longer find the smaller rings. Unfortunately these are a bit large for smaller dogs, but we still make it work. If your dog likes to eat/swallow things like cardboard this probably isn’t a good fit. Our girl spits out the paper bits as she goes, but we of course monitor to make sure she does. The rings look at first like heavy cardboard tubing, and are very similar except that they are thicker and far denser than any cardboard tubing I have ever found. If I did, I would buy it in bulk in a heartbeat. These seem pricey but we get about three cleaning sessions out of each ring, and I have actually seen the tarter chipping away. We have found nothing else that works as well as these do to physically clean the tarter from her teeth. Hope this helps!

Useless for dental cleaning
My dog ripped this up in 10 seconds. Was only interested in eating the cardboard not the toothpaste.

Good fun for my strong chewer dog. Good for teeth cleaning. No calories, and no worries about food allergies. Not smelly like bully sticks and cow hooves. It took
Good fun for my strong chewer dog. Good for teeth cleaning. No calories, and no worries about food allergies. Not smelly like bully sticks and cow hooves. It took her a total of about 20 minutes to first chew off the mint coating then chew apart the cardboard layers. I think these are worth the price and a bit of cardboard cleanup off the floor after the dog is done with it. No, the dog doesn’t want eat this “treat” but I think that’s a benefit because there’s no choking on shards or splinters, her teeth aren’t going to crack, and no abdominal obstructions. She spits the pieces out of her mouth.
