Purchased for our cat, Evie. She's 5 years old and weighs around 11 lbs. This is sturdy enough for her. She likes to scratch at the bottom and loafs on top of the mushroom. I also sometimes use it as a foot stand myself when Evie isn't using it. It looks cute in our living room. Would recommend and would purchase again in the future if needed.
