This kit has a lot of different tools and a nice storage bag to keep them all in. I have a German Shepherd Dog (GSD) and never take her to a groomer, since all she really needs is regular brushing/combing with a deshedding tool and regular nail trimming. GSD's don't need their fur trimmed or shaved. So there are just a few tools in this kit that I used on my dog. She was not afraid of getting brushed while the vacuum hose was attached and creating a soft suction on her fur. I think she rather liked it! While I was brushing her and changed the power from the lowest level to the second level, she laid down and rolled on her side. The kit includes a grooming brush and "deshedding" brush. The deshedding brush is not very effective for my GSD's thick coat. The grooming brush did a better job with removing the loose fur. Also, the fur doesn't automatically get sucked into the vacuum. The fur is still on the brush bristles and then you press a button, which retracts the bristles, making the fur then get sucked into the hole. So, a tiny bit of the fur (especially the softer undercoat) that was on the bristles went flying into the air, and most of the fur went into the hole and sucked through the tube, into the vacuum. That said, it is a LOT less messier and a much easier cleanup when grooming my dog indoors. This will keep me motivated to brush her regularly in the winter when it is freezing cold outside! The clipper head is removable from the battery powered handle so that you can attach the nail grinder head. Using it has a nail grinder, it is quieter than the Dremel that I use on my dog's nails. But, it has a guard on it that partially blocks my view of my dog's nail where it meets the nail grinder. I need to be able to watch exactly how much I am trimming of the end of my dog's nails, especially since she has black nails. There is no way of seeing the quick through the nail. If it weren't for that piece that is over part of the grinder that is blocking my view, I would have liked it. As for the trimmer, German Shepherds don't need their fur trimmed. But, it is great to have handy in case of injuries. For example, when my dog was limping from something under her leg (above her paw) that was difficult to see because of the fur, I had to borrow the vet's trimmer to shave the area. If I had this trimmer at that time, I could have shaved the area at home. The kit also includes a pet hair roller remover, which is great to any hair sticking to your clothes, and a crevice tool for your furniture, if you just don't feel like dragging out the vacuum cleaner. For convenience, the kit is great for me and my GSD, but since I will only be using the one tool (grooming brush) on a regular basis, it isn't really a necessity for me. I'd highly recommend this kit for anyone with a dog that needs to see a groomer on a regular basis for fur trimming, as this would probably allow you to keep your dog looking great in between the visits.
