The fountain was easy to assemble and all three of my cats (ages 1, 3 and 15) went right over and started drinking from it. They all like to drink from a faucet so I guess rhe spout works for them. It's not loud - no pump noise at all, just some gurgling water. It holds a decent amount of water. So far we love it!
