My two cats normally get Orijen Guardian 8 and Orijen Six Fish. They love the flavors of these. Since they are eight and eleven, I thought I'd try the Guardian Senior. I made a mixture of all three flavors and EVERY time, they pick around and leave the Senior pieces in their bowls. From now on, I'll stick with their usual flavors. I won't be ordering this again. Will try to donate the rest of the bag.
Orijen Guardian Senior is hands-down the best senior kibble I've found for my two elderly felines. It smells good, the cats love it, it's super healthy, and the kibbles are very small which makes it easy for them to swallow. I've tried lots of mid-grade and super-premium senior kibbles and they all resulted in unhappy kitties and throwing-up. No longer! Orijen Guardian Senior fixed everything. Worth every penny. Nice job Orijen!
The jury is still out on this one. I have elderly cats and although they seem to be in good shape overall, they do have arthritis and I want to do the very best I can for them. I have tried other varieties of Orijen, one of which they liked and one they wouldn't touch. However, I was concerned that that Orijen was too rich for an elderly cat. When saw that Orijen had begun to offer a senior variety, I decided to try it. They're eating it and seem to like it but I'm still concerned that it may have too much of some things for an old kitty. I'll keep feeding it for now and keep an eye on how they're doing, and we'll see how it goes.
Two senior cats, always fed a variety of super premium foods, but from first taste of this these two were super excited and two weeks in, it remains. Won't even touch the old stuff I expected to slowly wean them off of. Look at the ingredients and you'll see why, I guess. Even opening it, you can smell the fish. I'm sold and they sure are.
My cats absolutely love this brand. Unfortunately, it makes their poop smell more bad than previous but we believe it’s healthier. Until they get tired of it, the little spoiled br.ts
This is really good quality food. I was looking for high meat protein and not a lot of fillers. My cats were very over weight and prescription weight loss food hasn't helped. My cats are starting to take the weight off. This is the way a cat should eat. I'm really happy with the quality.
The kibble is small enough for my 18 year old with few teeth left. Unfortunately, both my 8 and 18 year old sniffs it and walks away. I gave it 4 days, they're starving themselves. I can see the weight loss on my 18 year old, so going back to the less expensive stuff they'll eat, even though the ingredients aren't the quality I'd like them to have.
My big guy finally found a yummy, nutritious dry cat food! Thanks!
Its a good quality food that I was really hoping my normally not-picky senior would eat. But he turns his nose up to it. It was worth a shot.
My cat did not approve of this what so ever. Even tried mixing it with his old food just so it didn't get wasted and nope he still left these pieces and ate his old stuff. He is a fan of the six fish but not this.
