Are any of the ingredients in this ORIJEN Original Entree Chunks & Shreds Wet Cat Food flavor, from China?

Answer by ChewyDec 03, 2025
Champion Petfoods does not generally source ingredients directly from China, especially not for core ingredients such as meats or vegetables. However, on rare occasions, global shortages of certain vitamins or minerals may require sourcing these specific components from China. This is consistent with industry-wide practices, as some vitamins and minerals are manufactured in limited regions worldwide. When such sourcing occurs, Champion maintains strict quality and safety standards to ensure product integrity.

It's real food!

I saw that Orijen is real food. We call other cat foods "Meat?" as a joke. My kitty, Lyle, really chows down on the Orijen.

I have a savannah and a hybred savannah asian leopard cat who eat mostly meat but this is their go to food and the only actual cat food pharoah will eat. They love the dry chicken bits and the protein is great for them. I also have a main coin mix and A Siamese. The Maine coon mix loves this also but Siamese is 25 and on prescription food

Orijen original chunks and shreds

Good food with good ingredients, but I have 11 adult cats and only 2 or 3 will eat it. Not the foods fault, but anyone who is owned by cats knows how finicky they

Not a good choice

The ingredients are good but all of my eight rescued indoor cats who eat about any canned or dry food do not like it very much. They tried it, and three regurgitated

The ingredients are good but all of my eight rescued indoor cats who eat about any canned or dry food do not like it very much. They tried it, and three regurgitated their first meal. It might be the odd texture, or because it's a new food. But I will stick with pate as that is what they prefer (and doesn't end up all around their food bowls as this does). I like many other Orijen canned foods, however, just not this formulation.

Why can't I find wet food for my cat?

I have tried several brands of high quality (and price) wet foods for my older (8 years) female cat. She used to LOVE Sheba, which wasn't a luxury item but she liked

I have tried several brands of high quality (and price) wet foods for my older (8 years) female cat. She used to LOVE Sheba, which wasn't a luxury item but she liked it. Now she scoffs at even her favorites of the flavors available. I ordered two types of ORIJEN, an Applaws variety, and Reveal Natural variety.... None. She may consume the broth at times but doesn't like the rest. Chunks, Pate, doesn't matter. I end up giving this stuff to a shelter since it won't be used and I cannot return the items.
