- Serve dry or lightly moistened. See your veterinarian regularly. To help maintain freshness, we recommend sealing the bag tightly and storing it in a cool, dry location.
- Kittens: Post weaning (after 5 weeks old) feed 1/4 cup for each 1lb of body weight. At 20 weeks (5 months) feed 1/8 cup for each 1lb of body weight. Feed as an adult at 52 weeks
- Gestation: increase daily feeding amount by 25%
- Lactation: feed ‘free choice’
When switching diets, it’s important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ORIJEN. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.
The Pinnacle of Nutrition
Cats are obligate carnivores, and they thrive on a biologically appropriate diet. ORIJEN provides optimal feline nutrition by using unsurpassed quantities of fresh or raw meat from a variety of Wholeprey animal protein sources.
85-90% Animal Ingredients
With 85-90% premium animal ingredients, each ORIJEN cat food recipe provides essential protein, vitamins and minerals in their most nourishing forms. It’s a meaty diet designed to feed your cat’s carnivorous cravings.
Nourish As Nature Intended
Fresh ingredients preserved solely through refrigeration and raw ingredients frozen at the peak of freshness stay true to their natural form. This minimalist approach preserves important nutrients and keeps closer to the diet your feline evolved to eat.
15 FRESH OR RAW INGREDIENTS
With at least 15 fresh or raw ingredients in every recipe, ORIJEN kibble is the closest thing to feeding a raw diet.
ORIJEN'S WHOLEPREY DIET
ORIJEN recipes include meat, organs, and bone, so your cat can enjoy the most nutrient-dense and succulent parts of the prey.
FIRST 5 INGREDIENTS
The first 5 ingredients are always fresh or raw animal sources, including nutrient-rich meat, fish, poultry, whole fish, and organs.
Transitioning to ORIJEN
Acclimate your cat to a new ORIJEN diet by transitioning gradually from the old food you were feeding. Start by replacing 25% of the old diet with ORIJEN food, increasing the new food amount proportionally over the next 10-14 days. By the end of the second week, you should be feeding 100% ORIJEN.
About ORIJEN
ORIJEN makes foods to help pets thrive, so they can stay healthy and strong through all their days. Their Wholeprey approach means including the most nutrient-dense and delicious parts of the prey in their recipes, to deliver the natural whole nutrition cats and dogs evolved to eat. Help your best friend reach his fullest potential with a biologically appropriate diet from ORIJEN.

Orijen is favorite
By FurMama89 on Feb 14, 2021 Top 10 Contributor
I LOVE Orijen. For the majority of my cats life I’ve fed her Orijen and I’m so glad I do because it’s such high quality kibble. Right off the bat you can see how much more protein is in just by the look of the kibble in comparison to traditional pet food kibble. I will always buy Orijen for all my pets. Best kibble for all your best. Hands down. High quality and great nutrition. I’m glad it’s back on Chewy after being gone for so long but with it’s return it got WAY MORE expensive than it typically is.

Orijen is incredible! So glad CHEWY has offered it!
By Buffycoat5 on Feb 15, 2021
I have 3 rescue cats, 2 out of the 3 love Orijen. The third is warming up to it. Orijen has always had a strong odor, so I assume it has a strong taste as well. Maybe it will be an aquired taste for them after some time? I wish I could wean all 3 of them off their other dry food to eat just Orijen. I love the ingredients, and I think it is better for them. We are on our way...so far...so good.

Used to be my cats' favorite food
By CarolH on Jan 28, 2021
At one time this was my cats' favorite food and all they ate. Then Orijen became unavailable everywhere so I found other grain free foods. A daunting exercise. When Regional Red became available again I ordered a bag. Unfortunately my cats haven't touched it. They really like the Fit and Trim but no longer care for the Regional Red. I'll still recommend it to friends as it's a superior food.

Orijen is back!!!!!! Hooray :)
By Paula on Feb 6, 2021
Love this brand. So glad to see them back with chewy. Orijen is a bit pricey on Chewy. Our local family owned store sells Orijen for 6 bucks to 10 bucks cheaper. So far I have ordered this, bags have been sealed tight. No issue's.

picky cat approves!
By closetcatlady on Aug 13, 2017
I bought this in hope to help my kibble-loving cat to get rid of hairball problem & get the wet-food-only cat to start eating some kibbles again instead of waking me up at 3am to open a can of wet food for her. I opened the bag and poured some into their bowls, both of them immediately start to gobble down! They didn't stop until they finish their entire bowls! Needless to say I will definitely purchase it again b/c my cat hasn't touch dry food (unless necessary) for a long time and it's a first for her to be so drawn to kibbles! I will observe the other cat to see if hairball problems improve.

Only for treats
By Lauren5 on Sep 24, 2017
Since it's expensive I only use this for treats at night to keep them busy. I put the food in the cats treat egg toy so they work for it and don't bother me at 3am for attention. Cats can't get enough though and often sit by the dry food container hoping for more.

Great Price & Product
By Brooke on Sep 1, 2017
I read about how great this food was online but it's so expensive in my local stores. Thank you Chewy.com for the great prices. The product is amazing too, within 2 weeks of putting this in the dinner bowl, even the vet noticed the bright shine my black cats coat took on from the food.

Excellent product
By Shari on Sep 7, 2017
Pay for healthy food or pay the vet but this is just so expensive not sure can afford. Trying to heal a sick feral kitty to give her a chance at life. If lives, will have to feed something I can afford. Not sure but seems to be the best on the market.

Red food for alot of green
By LizzyO on Jul 1, 2017
This food is great. I love the ingredients and feel good about feeding it to my kitty. I added it to his current kibble, which he ate around, and goobled only the Orijen. I knocked off one star for the steep price - 6 times his regular dry food - and because this dry food is not very firm so there is a considerable amount of crumble which I doubt he'll eat. I may purchase again as a treat but it won't be my kitty's dry food staple.

My ferrets LOVE this food!
By XeratheCat on Oct 1, 2017 Top 1000 Contributor
One of the few chicken free foods that are good for ferrets. Too bad chewy won't have it much longer :*(
