Key Benefits

  • Brimming with 40% richly nourishing protein, and limited to 20% low-glycemic carbohydrates to nourish cats and kittens according to their evolutionary and biological needs
  • A full 2/3 of our meat is fresh (refrigerated, without preservatives) or RAW (flash-frozen, without preservatives), including the top 10 meat ingredients
  • Nutrient-dense WholePrey ratios of fresh meats (including muscle meat, organs, and cartilage) provide virtually every nutrient your cat needs to thrive – only zinc is added

  • Cats won't eat

    By on

I have 2 cats. One is overweight the other throws up all the time. When I read positive reviews I was quite excited thinking that maybe I have finally found a grain free food my cats would like. The negative reviews were mostly cats that had been on original formula and refused the new. So I thought since mine had never tried it they would be fine. My overweight cat tried it but when my other cat refused to eat it she then refused. I mixed it with the other food but alas they left this kibble in the bowl. I had a coupon for a first time buy so I at least did not incur such an expense. Guess I will feed it to the crows and blue jays. Quite disappointed.

  • Quality food

    By on

I absolutely love Orijen! My ferrets love it, and I love how nutritious it is for them. I recently adopted 2 boys from a lady that was feeding them Wild Harvest Ferret food, and they're so much more energetic and bright-eyed now. Their fur is so much softer too. It may be a bit pricey, but it is most definitely worth it!

  • You cannot feed ANYTHING BETTER!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

This is by far the best quality dog food you can purchase. Let me Tell you why. It's grain, corn, wheat , soy, tapioca , potato, sweet potato, and rice free. Potatoes and rice can cause yeast issues and they leave them out. Very hard to find in other brands. They have their own grass fed, free-range, local farners. It's antibiotic, hormone and GMO free. The fish are wild caught or responsibly farmed. The farmers sell exclusively to them with the exception of a few that sell to high end restaurants. Yes, the meat is human grade! They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. Big reason why many companies have recalls This is by far the best quality dog food you can purchase. Let me Tell you why. They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. Big reason why many companies have recalls. In addition, they test and hold every batch to prevent recalls! They've never had a recall! All the meat arrives within several days of harvest and 2/3 is put directly into the food. The other 1/3 is flash frozen , different from regular freezing. This preserves as many nutrients as possible. They use whole prey ratios . Meat, ORGAN, CARTILAGE , AND BONE. Just like in the wild. The carbs they use are kept to a minimum and are low on the glycemic index. They burn slow for lasting energy. Our 9 pound spayed female cat (indoor) only gets 1/4 in the morning, 1/4 cup at night. 1/2 cup per day. A little goes a long way. They have left out the poor quality fillers, that's why! Lastly they use many botanicals like rosehips and sarsaparilla root...which all have their purposes from detoxifying the body to strengthening the immune system. Topped off with probioitics at the end! Zero hair balls, and she FEELS literally LIKE A BUNNY! Her fur is plush, no dandruff, itching or flaking. Her eyes are clear and she is full of energy. No more urinary tract infections! Our Kiara is 3 years old , and has 13 toes on her front paws! This is obviously a deformity ...polydactyl cats with this ..normally a cause of inbreeding. More than likely she was a horder cat. She was also born with a birth defect causing "luxating patella" . One side of where her knee cap sits was not high enough. Her knee cap started popping out of place. She had an intense 3 hour surgery. (See photos ) and the cushion under the knee cap had to be scraped away and the knee cap put back and screws put in to secure it. There was a chance she would favor it and have issues walking the rest of her life. We are two years in after her surgery and she leaps and bounds like NOTHING is wrong. She is active and even goes on walks with us! I truly think it's the high glucosamine and omegas in this food. At 90% meat, you can't get any better . Treat your cat like the mini lion/tiger that they are! Will never feed anything else, and working at a specialty food store, I saw many people who say the food completely turned their cat's health around. It really is worth the money and you truly know you are putting the absolute BEST in your cat! … more

  • Very good food, but pricy

    By on

This is going to be my new go-to dry food. I hate that I even use dry foods for my cats, but if I do I want to make sure I am feeding them the best. Lots of grain free dry foods are high in carbs which will turn to sugar and could lead to diabetes. It is the most expensive dry brand I have found, but I do think the quality is there, and it has the lowest carbs I have seen in a dry too.

  • Spend a little more and get the best results

    By on

I have 2 slightly over weight cats, and two ferrets. With this food focused highly on "meat" and therefore protein, as well as NO Peas, I can sleep at night knowing my animals are healthier for it. Most cat foods are not healthy with little attention given to the fact that these animals are carnivores. This will be the only cat food in my house from now on.

  • Had high hopes - cats don't agree

    By on

After reading all the great reviews I was hoping this would be the one for my 2 cats. I tried mixing it with usual dry and they seemed to pick around it. Finally I left a separate dish and they barely nibble at it. I really want to get them on a great healthy diet but they are such picky eaters. Will not reorder this. At least they somewhat like Royal Canin for now.

  • Excellent quality and my cat loves it!

    By on

I am quite pleased with this dry food. Not only is it of excellent quality and has met all my very exacting standards for a food I would give to my cat, he just loves it! The only problem, if you can consider it that, is that he loves it too much, LOL. I still prefer my cat eat predominantly wet food so I am careful only to put this out sparingly, a little bit when I go to sleep, to work or otherwise am out of the house longer than usual. Highly recommended!

  • Not as expected

    By on

My cat really does not like this one. I purchased all three Orijen flavors and the red meat he turns his nose up and walks away. But this brand is a bit costly so I refuse to toss it out. He'll eat it when he's starving.

  • Our cat loves these "crunchies"!

    By on

This by far is our cat's favorite dry cat food. She has food allergies, and Regional Red allows our cat to remain healthy and happy. She loves her "crunchies"!

  • Allergy help

    By on

One of my cat's (12 yrs old) has had life-long severe sinus/allergy problems. I have spent hundreds on veterinary care & medications, none of which helped. I decided she might need a change of diet, and after only a week on your Kitty food, she is noticeably better; I'm hopeful she will become completely allergy-free eventually. To me this is a miracle.
