A Hit With Both Kittens
We have been challenged finding a food that both of our 9 month old kittens will eat. When we adopted the kittens, the foster mom was using Orijen treats that they both liked. So we decided to give this a try and luckily both enjoy it. We know that the quality of the food is great and like to make sure that both are getting a nutrient packed diet and this food is part of that strategy.
they ate at first, grew less impressed
They started out eating this pretty well, maybe because they hated the other food I tried. They still nibble at this if they can't get anything else. But one cat needs to eat to get his insulin, so he can get me to say "Uncle" a bit easier & he does win as shot time gets nearer.
My Kitten LOVES This Food!
I bought this for my 8 month old kitten because I wanted to feed her a higher quality kibble, but this was what I could afford and it still seemed reasonably priced for the weight of the bag. I opened the bag in front of her and she tried to get in it! She’s usually a good kitty and doesn’t try to tear the bag, but this time she made a hole in when I stepped out of the room for a few minutes! I gave her some pieces like treats and she ate them up! When her automatic feeder goes off, she runs and finishes the meal! I work all day so I feed her this kibble for breakfast and lunch with an automatic dispenser. At dinner when I get home she gets a portion of commercial raw food. She seems to be thriving with this new kibble and her raw dinner. Her coat is beautiful and shiny, she’s been more playful, she’s been shedding less, and she’s been cuddling me more and sitting with me on my lap more. I’m definitely keeping this kibble in my rotation, and I definitely recommend it.
Cats get excited knowing it is coming
Thought I'd try this flavor. All but 2 cats like it. I will continue to purchase this flavor for the majority of cats but will also include a different Orijen flavor that was previously liked by the 2.
Despite it's high price tag, this food is something I can't help but love. I have one boy who is allergic to chicken, but hates prescribed foods ...this was a fantastic find. All four of my fur babies eat this, and love it. Their coats are shiny and thick, they're happy, and I'm thrilled.
My cats don't like this flavor
Ive tried all 3 Orijen kibble flavors and the "fit and trim" and "wild run chicken salmon rabbit" flavors my cats like especially the fit trim I will buy double of that but this flavor not so much.. Although they may change their mind after a transition period. It has a very dark color that I don't know what ingredient would cause that. Looks like someone took a nap and left the oven on too long. I am hoping this brand will help transition away from Purina Beyond which my cats like but the quality is not adequate for their senior life stage. We have to bump it up a few notches and Orijen seems to fit the bill. This flavor actually costs more than the other 2 so.. go figure. Marketing ploy? Thanks to Chewy for providing us options.
I used to use a similar product from Orijin with a different name that was primarily beef, but I discontinued and don't remember why now. Tried this one, and the kitties like it, but I would not say they are absolutely wild about it as they are about some others. It might be the wild boar or other exotic tastes like goat in it. My cats tend to be pretty sold on traditional flavors, but I think they need a change from all the chicken and fish! I do think it is a good product and well made.
It's expensive...it must be good
Cats seem to like it. I mean they eat it without pawsing and finish with a good meow.
Was a hit at first
My cat that can't have chicken or salmon that has been diagnosed with i b d seemed to enjoy this for about a week and a half.
Regional red dry
My cat was reluctant to eat this at first ( she is not at all a “picky-eater”) but when I withdrew the dish and re-offered a couple of minutes later, she ate some. She does not seem to like red meats but will eat this food readily now. I only feed dry in small amounts (1-2 tsps) as a treat after her (wet food) meals and occasionally as a snack. I had been “treating” her with the six-fish dry, which she loves, but am trying to minimize feeding fish-based food after reading on internet that it is not natural for cats to eat fish and that for several reasons, fish-based food is bad for cats’ health.
