Are the freeze dried pieces raw or are they cooked before the drying process? If they are raw, does anyone know how Orijen is ensuring their raw is free of pathogens?

Orijen freeze-dried products are not considered raw. To ensure the safety of the ORIJEN Freeze Dried foods and treats, the brand uses a freeze-drying process in combination with a post-drying thermal treatment. During the freeze-drying process, ORIJEN foods and treats are briefly raised to 90°C. This step ensures that the food is free of pathogens.

On an average dry matter basis, the minimum protein content is 44%, the minimum fat content is 22%, the maximum fiber content is 3.3%, the minimum calcium content is 1.5%, the minimum phosphorous content is 1.1%, the maximum ash content is 10%, and the carbohydrate content is 20%.

My cat seemed to like this food. I picked this for the freeze dried pieces. He used to eat a raw diet but stopped liking it so we moved to kibble but he seems to get tired of one kind so this had some added bits and he seems to like it. I like the quality of the ingredients. Had no digestive issues or problems when we switched but we did it slowly. Time will tell if he continues to eat this regularly.

Made my cats sick

I searched and searched for food that didn't have any type of Meal in it, trying to find something healthier for my fur babies. I mixed this food in with the food

I searched and searched for food that didn't have any type of Meal in it, trying to find something healthier for my fur babies. I mixed this food in with the food I had before to slowly change them over to it. After a couple days on just Orijen, my cats were puking up the food every time after about 10 minutes of eating it. Even when I tried giving them treats just to have something in their stomachs until I could get different food, they puked. Unfortunately to say, I will not be purchasing this food again.

I don't get it.

He loves the original Orijen. He's been loving that for months now. So much so, he won't even eat his Tiki wet anymore. Thought I'd try this mixed chicken morsels

He loves the original Orijen. He's been loving that for months now. So much so, he won't even eat his Tiki wet anymore. Thought I'd try this mixed chicken morsels one. I was certain he'd love this too. But that would be a no. I mixed a tiny bit w/ the original and he wouldn't go near it. Had to dump. The original alone is what he'd eat. Most say he's a picky cat. I say simple. Perhaps I should count my blessings. But how normal is it to keep him on just one variety?

The best crinchies

My vet loves this. Fizz loves this. Marigold loves this. I love this because it's super healthy and delicious food. Marigold now hates everything she ate before

Real fish bite sized

It's still debatable if they like this or not, they have thrown up a few times and I'm not sure if it's from this or food delivered and sat in sun on the porch..
