FAQ

How do I know if my clipper brushes need changing?

Brushes are generally good for up to 200 hours of use. It will be noticeable in clipper performance when it is time to change the brushes. Generally, clippers will begin to slow down, run roughly, and then stop working.

How do I grease my clipper?

Only clippers with a universal motor require greasing - for example, the Classic 76, Model 10 or Turbo 111. In order to grease the clipper, remove the front cover plate (nameplate) to access to the gear box. This will allow you to determine if the clipper needs to be greased. If clipper does need grease, use about 1/2 teaspoon. Fill the gear box with the grease. Make sure the grease covers the gears. Most of our products come packed with a grease tube.

Why does my blade rattle on my clipper?

Over time the socket on your blades may have become damaged. Check the "wings" on your blade socket to see if they may be bent outward or broken.

How do I properly remove the blade from my clipper? (A5, A6, Outlaw, Powermax, Power Pro and Volt)

With the clipper facing you, place the pad of your thumb on the blade and swiftly push the top of the blade away from the clipper. This will make the blade '"tongue" or "blade assembly" open and you can slide the blade off. off the "tongue" and replace the new blade on the "tongue". With the "tongue" open, turn clipper on and then push the blade towards the clipper (shut), this will ensure the proper engagement of the blade on the driving tip.

How do I get my blade back on my clipper? (A5, A6, Outlaw, Powermax, Power Pro and Volt)

First, ensure that the rectangular metal "tongue" or blade hinge assembly is in standing position or open. If it is closed, insert a flat head screwdriver under the tongue and applying enough force, push the hinge back to standing position. Once this is complete, slide the blade on the tongue, turn your clipper on and push the blade down and snap the hinge assembly closed.

Works great on a shih tzu

    By on

I did some research and decided these were the best clippers for keeping my shih tzu's coat short in the summer. They worked as well as I hoped, and made it so much easier to do a haircut, with no problem cutting through her dense, fine coat. The clippers do get pretty hot, but it wasn't an issue for me, since I just took a few breaks to clean and re-oil the blades and let them cool down.

    Waste of money

    By on

I purchased an Oster Turbo A5 clippers which only worked 6 months. I replaced the blade, but still with no luck. I purchased another Oster and the first time I used it, I found it to need a new blade. After reading reviews, I noticed a lot of people were having no luck with the Oster blade. I tried an Andis blade and it worked great after that. The clippers does get Very Very hot fast.

Get hot quick and very loud

    By on

I bought these for my mini horses. I washed and blow dryed my 33 inch stallion before taking down his winter coat today. It took more than two hours and two #ten blades to get him about 85% done. For real! Read the reviews, they get HOT! Not the blades, but the clippers. And they are loud. I knew they wouldn’t be finishing clippers, but they suck as take down clippers as well. I am pretty disappointed for the price. They do the job I guess. Make sure it’s a SUPER clean coat and give yourself plenty of time.

    Awful clipper

    By on

We were really excited to get what we thought were professional clippers for grooming our Wheaten Terrier. Right out of the box, the clippers were great.. for about 10 minutes. I read about other’s complain about the clippers getting too hot but that part didn’t bother me. What bothers me is that in addition to getting hot, the clippers also seized and rendered themselves useless until they cooled down again. I will be requesting a full refund.

    Gets hot really fast

    By on

I have a standard poodle and it cuts his hair well but gets hot very quickly. Even using cooling spray I have to change the blade after about 5 minutes.

    Best that I have used

    By on

This clipper is the best I have used and best for the price. Chewy's low prices and extremely fast and easy service was the only choice. I suggest the ceramic blades because they last longer and stay cooler.

These clippers get very hot and are very loud even on the low speed. I would plan on returning them.

    1/16 " ONLY

What good is a trimmer that shaves to the skin with no guards or combs available? Use this to shear a sheep not to groom a dog.
