I need to know the length of coat that each blade4 is used for. What blade would be good for say 3/4 of an inch? I have a Portuguese Water Dog that groomers either shave all his coat off or make him look like a poodle.

The size 10 leaves hair 1/16 inch, size 15 leaves hair 3/64 inch, size 30 leaves hair 1/50 inch, size 40 leaves hair 1/100 inch, and size 50 leaves hair 1/125 inch.

I tried to change the blade. The assembly fell apart. How does it fit back together?

The blade should slide on easily and snap back into place.

can these blades be sharpened ?

Blades should be soaked in a solution to break down oil and grime, and then a detail grinder is used to reshape and sharpen the teeth.

what blade size will leave my dogs fur about 1/2 inch long?

Within the Oster Cryogen-X blades, the size 4F will leave the coat 3/8 inch, the closest to the desired 1/2 inch.
