I always like to replace the scratch pads at least every 3 months. The ones that I have been purchasing for years doesn’t seem like it’s available anymore. My cats are always so excited to get new scratch pads. I was opening this up and saw the way I had to assemble it and as soon as I stuck the top part on to the peel and stick angled part, it collapsed. It’s not sturdy. It’s absolutely worthless as an angled cat scratcher which my cats are used to. I have been buying this type of scratch pads for my cats as long as I can remember. I’ve never had any issues with the other product I was using for many years and now Chewy is selling this inferior product. My cats are used to the angle scratch pad , the scratch pad is just junk.

I've had these Alpine incline scratchers for at least 20-25 years. The ones I have have a photo of an alpine mountain climber in a scene on its side. They came with hanging toys inside the holes. I have three in different rooms bought at different times and I have them standing up so the cats can stretch out and scratch. Over time, I've bought replacement scratcher inserts. Until now, when you can't buy them any more. So I bought this new version of the Alpine scratcher. It is by far inferior to their old product. First, the scratcher cardboard box is not an insert, but sits on top of the incline. Meaning that you can't stand it on its side as it separates and falls over as soon as the cat touches it with his claws. Even on its side like pictures, I had to go get packaging tape and tape the two pieces together as their attachment system doesn't hold. Then, because it is mailed flat, the bottom incline is folded in the middle, when your cat leans against it, it often buckles in the middle, no matter how you straighten it out. I'm so disappointed in a product that used to be great and which my cats over the years have loved. I'd never buy it again.
Kitty loves this!
We have a few of these scratchers placed around the house. Kitty loves to scratch, lounge and nap on them.

The wedge base is useless, much too flimsy and cheaply made. Using as just a flat scratchy board, which I already had.

Assembled according to directions, but it comes apart which Archie finds unsettling.
