Is the base opening for bowls closed or a hole the bowls sit in
Answer by ChewyNov 04, 2018
The holder is indented to fit the bowls.

I have a full grown lab. Will this size work?
Answer by ChewyMay 22, 2019
To determine the correct height for a dog food bowl by measuring your standing dog from the floor beneath the front paws up to the top of the shoulders. For dog's measuring between 12-15 inches at shoulder height, the 8 inch model is recommended. For dog's measuring between 16-19 inches at shoulder height, the 12 inch model is recommended.

Check for mold

The water bowl has no rubber rim to connect to the frame. Therefore, water splashes underneath the dish getting trapped between the base and the bowl creating mold. It was absolutely disgusting

Bigger than expected but perfect

Bought this for a 65 lb dog and while it's bigger than I thought it would be, it's the perfect size. I got this in part to because of the size of the bowls - it seemed like other feeders supposedly for large dogs didn't have big enough bowls, not so much for the food but having a big enough bowl of water for a large size dog is important. The others I saw were 3 cups which isn't enough and this one is 5 cups. The bowls seem to be of good quality and it is sturdy and won't tip over. There are also finger holes at the edge of the bowl cutouts so you can pull them out easily.

More mess than its worth

I received this yesterday and was super excited to set this up. I had to keep filling the bowls more than I do with he others but it seemed to be working. My last job for the night was to wash the bowls and fill them for the cats. I was not happy when I lifted the bowl to see all the water under the bowl. It took a thick hand towel to clean up the water under one bowl :( Just more work now, more bending with a bad back. I was trying to make life a bit easier. Note the bowls are small... this is perfect for small dogs

Perfect height for my girl

I have a pit who is 4 months old. This is perfect for her. The bowls themselves are a little more light weight than I expected, but the base is sound so she can’t knock it over. It helps greatly for her not to have to crouch to eat or drink. The reason it only got 3 stars is because of the water bottle. I tried to use a normal 2-liter, and it was flimsy at best. She is voracious when she drinks because she plays so hard, and it spilled the very first time. I figured, maybe I’m supposed to take the little ring off the bottle……nope! Then all the water in the bottle pours into the bowl. So for now, I am just going to use the actual bowls that came with it. And FYI: since the base is black, don’t be surprised if your dog looks at you like your crazy when you tell her there is water in it. That’s what mine did. She couldn’t see it.

Dog feeding bowl...

This bowl is fine but my cats usually drink from my dogs bowl and this bowl is too high for my cats. Oh well. Other then that it the dog dish is fine for our dog because she does not have to bend so low to eat.

Best dog feeder stand

I’ve seen other stand feeders, but I’ve owned this one for years and it’s easy to clean and just the right height. The only thing is the stainless steel pans are of a lesser quality and over time some pitting in the bottom of pans they say: Made in India.I But I just bought a second one for my puppy.

IT IS GOOD

The dish does what I wanted it to. My Doberman does not dump food on floor any more.

Good value

The elevated bowls were a perfect height for my dog (Lab). He is eleven and this makes getting his food easier for him. The bowl is more than large enough for his food, although the water bowl is a bit small. My only reason for not rating a "5" is that a considerable amount of water gets under the bowls and must be dried periodically. Very reasonable price.

Great dog dish

This elevated bowl is perfect if you have a large breed dog like I have.. My German Shepherd doesn't have to go down to the floor to eat. It allows her to eat at her height, which helps with not getting a twisted gut. Great for dogs young and old.. Absolutely love it!!

My old dog likes his new bowls

I have a 50 lb hound mutt who's getting older. I thought this would be beneficial to him. The bowls are a little lightweight and I hope they hold up. It is a good height for Elvis who is Springer Spaniel size.
