I was hesitant to purchase this when my husband suggested it as our 5 year old cat is very 'picky' about her toys and is usually spooked by anything that makes noise. Boy did she prove me wrong! This is now her favorite toy! It's pretty quite and very durable. Our cat loves to catch the butterflies with her paw and even tries to grab them in her mouth and take them away. I thought we would have to attach it to something so it would stay in place, but it only tips over when she tries to walk away with her catch. I would recommend this to any cat owner!
My cat loved this, but the bottom piece was so hard to get on and off and broke almost immediately, the after only a month or two of playing with it the wire mechanism broke and no longer works. Not good for rough kitties
More than $10 and I would say not worth it. The butterflies need a bit of a push to get going and the cat is not totally sure about them, but he is still very interested and engaged and occasionally is brave enough to hit one with his paw. Works better on carpet so that the base can get a good grip. Havent had the problem others have had with it falling apart and the cat has used it a few times now.
Our neighborhood stray adopted us in February and has been in our house so we have been trying to find toys to keep him busy. I thought this was an excellent idea but he’s bored with it it just goes in one continuous circle and doesn’t change directions or anything so he enjoyed it first and now he doesn’t want anything to do with it
My kitties absolutely love the toy. There are four plastic tabs that are on the bottom to stabilize, two broke off immediately.
One of the legs broke off immediately. When trying to get it to work, it was very unstable and would not stand up. Think it has balance issues.
My tiny 13wk old kitten loved this so much! She played and played! Hours of fun. I was so glad I got it because since I adopted her alone I was worried she wasn't going to get enough play time. So worth every cent. I don't ever turn it on though because it scares her while it violently shakes about. It's more fun while it's off! I do have to say that now that she is 16wks and has grown a shocking amount so fast, this toy flips on its side every chance it gets. She's simply too big for it. She's almost the size of a normal sized adult cat. So I would recommend this more for kittens than adults. My kitty still enjoys playing with it. I just flip it right side up a couple times a day.
My kitty loves butterfly toys however this one spins a little too fast which just scares her away from it.
I was very surprised at how noisy this toy is. When you turn it on and the butterflies start spinning, it makes quite a racket. That said, it very much engaged both my cats and they immediately came over to play with it. The downside is, after a couple of swats, it flips right over on its side and that’s the end of it until you come and pick it up. It’s extremely lightweight and unstable.
Most entertaining when used and put away for a day. Needs adjusting now and then but worthwhile.
